in Kim’s mind North Korea is equal to South Korea. South Korea hosted the winter Olympics and thus showed the world that it was a major player in world affairs.
Kim could not let that go by and the only thing he had to tout besides a worm ridden military were his missile.That issue is over.
He has the missiles so there is for the present no reason to test.

If progress continues, and North and South Korea declare an official end to their war, and North Korea gives up their nuclear programs, there will most definitely be a Nobel Peace prize. It will go to Kim Jong-Un and Moon Jae-in. They will be lauded as heroes, not Trump. And it will be Xi Jinping who played the key role as facilitator. No way Trump gets credit or is in any way portrayed as a peacemaker and statesman.
Stopping testing is one thing. We haven’t tested any nukes in quite some time, because we haven’t needed to. Actual disarmament is something else altogether.
I don’t known the details, but Kim will be fading away.
