Michael Cohen, the longtime attorney of President Trump, is under federal investigation for possible bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations, according to three people with knowledge of the case.
One person familiar with the probe said investigators have been gathering material on Cohen for weeks, including bank records.
Two of the potential crimes being investigated – bank fraud and wire fraud – suggest prosecutors have some reason to think Cohen may have misled bankers about why he was using particular funds or may have improperly used banks in the transfer of funds.
Among the records seized by investigators were “protected attorney client communications,” Ryan said.
One person familiar with the probe said investigators have been gathering material on Cohen for weeks, including his bank records.

Cohen has acknowledged facilitating a $130,000 payment in October 2016 to Daniels, who claims she had a sexual relationship with Trump in 2006.
Cohen has said he used a home-equity line of credit to finance the payment to Daniels and said that neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign reimbursed him for the payment.
Banks don’t usually require much explanation from customers about how they use such credit lines. However, Cohen may have been asked to provide explanation for the large-dollar transfers he made when he moved the money to a shell company and then to a lawyer for Daniels.
The search requests for records related to the payment to Daniels cited investigators’ interest in possible violations of election law, according to one person familiar with the investigators’ work.

So essentially the president has no presidential privilege any longer. All a prosecutor has to say is that he is investigating the presidents attorney, waltz in and take all his files, and be done with it.
The president’s privacy no longer exists.

Where is the investigation of anything on the Left, while every little stone is overturned on the right?
It’s the WaPo. Very connected with the FBI/CIA, but nobody’s very curious about that. I’ll bet nothing comes of this charge. It’s meant to harass Trump’s attorney, and deny him due process. Trump should just use the army.

So apparently attorney client privilege means NOTHING..this should scare EVERYONE..that at any time, some crooked prosecutor can get some judge to raid your lawyer’s office and get EVERYTHING about you, all of your communication, etc..and besides, if Cohen went to the bank and refinanced his house(I doubt it was for 130 grand, probably half a mil he would NO way ask for the exact amount come on) what he does with the money is NOT the bank’s business..as long as he pays the amount back he can use it for whatever use he likes

I’ve tried tuning out the whole Daniels matter, which I think most Americans have done. The attorney seems to have done what we imagine most attorneys do. Whether Trump kew or not, I’d think it stops with the attorney. How does this fit into Mueller’s investigation? Or is Sessions and Wray trying to destroy Trump?
And who wants to bet that EVERYTHING that the FBI seized will be illegally leaked to the WaPo and other media outlets in order to politically hurt Trump? Drip, drip, drip...

This seems to be Mueller’s checkmate move. When Trump didn’t fire Rosenstein when he set him up by putting Comey’s BFF as SC with no limits it was as big of a mistake as making Sessions AG. At this point Trump seems doomed.
When do we get raids on them?
