... The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected the last-ditch plea by Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich to uphold a 2012 executive order by then-Gov. Jan Brewer to deny drivers licenses to DACA recipients, an order current Gov. Doug Ducey has left in place.
The justices gave no reason for their ruling. ...
It was shortly after Obamas action that Brewer directed the Arizona Department of Transportation to deny licenses to DACA recipients.
She cited a 1996 Arizona law that says
state licenses are available only to those whose presence in this country is authorized by federal law.
Obviously, they trampled all over the Tenth Amendment, she said, citing the amendment that says powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
She called DACA an illegal Obama executive action that trumped states rights. ...
Brewer argued thatthe U.S. Department of Homeland Security has no legal authority to permit DACA recipients to remain and work.
... Brewer said Mondays ruling leaves two options going forward.
One is for Trump to rescind DACA, something the president has tried to do.
But those efforts have so far been blocked by a federal judge.
The Supreme Court has declined to intercede, meaning there will be no final decision before at least this fall.
The other, said Brewer, is for Congress to finally address the question, in statute, of whether DACA recipients should be allowed to stay.
That would not only make moot any questionof whether they are authorized to be here
but make it clear that they are entitled to the same rights and privileges, such as licenses, as other legal residents who are not citizens.

Arizona should tell the LOWER COURT to GO TO HELL !
WHY didn't TRUMP press the United States Supreme Court to hear this appeal ?
Doesn't Trump want ILLEGAL ALIENS to NOT VOTE with motor voter registration !

I have a bad feeling in my gut that the 30 million wetbacks present here will eventually get citizenship and that no wall worth being called an effective barrier will be built.

WTF!?
Drivers licenses have been and always will be a PRIVILEGE and are conpletely under the sovereign ruling of a state to decide whos eligible. Theres nothing federal about it.
Agree with the other posters here - Arizona should declare they have moral authority here and not enforce the ruling.
To wit - is the SC now going to allow CCL nationwide?
(Heh - they should tie voting registration to CCLs!)

What do you think Trump can do in the face of a rogue judicial system?
To: vladimir998
So Arizona should be the Anti-Sanctuary State and tell the Supremes FOAD as they make life impossible for every stinking Dream-sh*ter and ramp up ICE and Border Patrol enforcement.
Just because someone puts a black robe on and makes an opinion does not make them THE Constitution. California has no problem sticking the finger at the Feds and being a turd-world state.

Yea, this is typical.
And I still have to provide multiple documents to prove that I am an American Citizen when I go to the New Jersey DMV to get my license renewed.

Brewer said she was disappointed not only in Mondays ruling but also in the fact that the Justice Department, now under the control of Donald Trump, whom she supported for president, asked the Supreme Court to reject Arizonas petition. President Trump could have requested that his justice department refrain from asking the Supreme Court to reject Arizonas petition.

This
is the same DOJ that has given us mueller and a scandalous FBI and who knows how deep that corruption is?
It is pretty obvious that all cabinet level departments were embedded with "deep staters" prior to the election. It is likely that the decision was made at that level not by President Trump.

I did not claim that the decision was made by him. I said he could have asked the DOJ not to request the petition be denied.
