When Benjamin Glaze, at the time a 19-year-old cashier from Enid, Okla., auditioned for “American Idol,” he had hoped his big moment would come as he belted out “Stadium,” a song he wrote himself. That or Nick Jonas’s 2015 single “Levels.”
Instead, it came when the popstar Katy Perry, a judge on the show, surprised him by kissing him smack on the lips, moments before his audition. He had never been kissed before.
“I was a tad bit uncomfortable,” Mr. Glaze said by phone this week, after the incident aired on the season premiere. His first kiss was a rite of passage he had been putting off with consideration. “I wanted to save it for my first relationship,” he said. “I wanted it to be special.”
“Would I have done it if she said, ‘Would you kiss me?’ No, I would have said no,” he said. “I know a lot of guys would be like, ‘Heck yeah!’ But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special.”

Actually, it was not a casual kiss, that was on the cheek. She twisted her face at the last second to kiss him on the lips.
I have seen that happen to grown men from a young girl who was trying to get a reaction. It sure caused one.
And as for daddy teaching him, my children know that the mark of a real man is one who can control himself, not flip for whatever piece decides to get in front of him.
The guy isn’t making a big deal out of it, the media is.
Having said that, if a man kissed a girl like that, he’d be in a lot of trouble these days.

Completely over the top. If he was my son I’d be embarrassed, not because he was working to stay pure for marriage, but because he was whining like an 8yr old.
In the video, notice he went to Katy when she beckoned him, and knew what she was up to.

IMO < this was not meant to insult the kid. She looked killer on the show this week, and I think she meant to do the kid a favor of sorts.
I've never been a fan of hers, but I'd guess most 19 year old guys would have been pretty stoked to have her kiss them, the way she was looking that audition.

That was a public casting couch moment. That slut held this kid’s career in her hands and called him over to both publicly seduce him and humiliate him. She did both.

Nonsense. The young man showed more maturity than any teen that thinks it’s no big deal to kiss anyone anytime, which simply makes for a devaluation of that which is much more meaningful when it is with the person you want that first moment with.
Saving something you want to have great personal value is NOT immaturity, it is maturity. Immaturity is throwing anything of value away, just for the momentary pleasure of it with persons you do not really care all that much for. Maturity is not being cheap. Immaturity is being cheap. The young man is not cheap, he’s more mature than most teens.
I don’t want skanks kissing me with filthy mouths.
