I find it kind of strange that you interpret it that way.
I am retired, I am former Military, I collect Social Security and do not make any money on the side, and I still pay taxes on it every year.
Although I do own my own home (on which I pay property taxes every year) because I choose to live the way I see fit, not beholding to some landlord.
And yes, those are the conditions I would set.
With the caveat that RETIRED people (those who have been gainfully employed and paid taxes throughout their lives) don’t have to be currently employed.
That’s why it’s called RETIRED.
Because they need as many liberals as possible and as we get older, we tend to learn at least a little bit.....If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.

That works for me. Takers should not be deciding how much they get to take from the people paying the bill.
