Exactly. Florida has the Baker Act that is tailor-made for that murderer. Hollowing out 2A is a very bad substitute for what SHOULD have happened when Broward County and the FBI had everything they needed to move on the murderer.

And how does this square with the 17-20-year-olds who serve? This makes no sense. It’s not the age... it’s the behavior. A good friend’s son joined the Marines at 17. And he was damn sure that not only was he prepared for any PT they could throw at him, but that his marksmanship was squared away. No one needed to escort this kid to the range once he turned 18.
That means your privacy with your doctor is protected and not available to the government unless you sign it away.

He might want to rethink that tactic when it comes to verbalizing thoughts that knock on the door of violating Constitutional rights.
Let’s assume that he is trustworthy enough to never infringe on our rights in any way. Do you want to leave that door open for whoever’s next... or the one after that? I don’t.

Absolutely. And for the long game, if the left sees that we aren’t willing to lift a finger to protect 2A, they’ll file that away for certain use.
Tucker had on a couple of Republicans talking about how terrible it was that Trump suggested ignoring due process in disarming someone based on a determination by police alone.
The question that came to mind was, "Where are the Democrats complaining about a plain violation of the Fifth Amendment right to due process?" When the dust settles, it may be possible to point out that NONE of the liberals even raised an eyebrow about violating due process.
We'll see.

He has VERY thick skin. Many people would have crumbled under the withering attack he has not only survived but overcome.
One trait that supports this is his willingness to look ignorant or inconsistent. He simply doesn't care. He is sufficiently confident in his own abilities and dares to use his authority to get things done.
Later, after the battle has been fought, we may find Trump suggesting that violating due process is a bad idea and that he appreciates his advisers setting him straight. He can further point out that further investigation shows that such violations wouldn't even have been necessary in the Parkland incident; there are already laws against making terrorist threats or assaulting someone with a gun.
Getting his opposition to overstep their own best interests is part of Trump's art. We'll see.

The problem of mental instability and firearms is an extremely complex issue. For example, where do you stand on a wife beater husband and his guns? It’s just that I have seen, what I characterize, as a hyper reactive edginess by Trump supporters on a number of past issues. You can expect such immediate criticism from liberals, but, in my view, there are way too many “conservatives” standing ready to pile on Trump at the drop of a dime. He gets a non stop beating, day out and day in from all quarters. Then, we hear the President just had a two hour sit down last night for the second time with the NRA. At some point you have to develop a level of trust in the guy and not take everything he says extemporaneously as the law.

There was plenty of evidence on Cruz outside of any medical records.
