FBI acknowledges it didn't investigate tip on Florida shooter
Arutz Sheva ^ | 16/2/18 | Ben Ariel

The FBI acknowledged on Friday it received a tip last month that the suspect in the Florida school shooting had a "desire to kill" and access to guns and could be plotting an attack, but agents failed to investigate. A person who was close to the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, called the FBI's tip line on January 5 and provided information about Cruz's weapons and his erratic behavior, including his disturbing social media posts, reported The Associated Press.

The caller was concerned that Cruz could attack a school. In a statement, the FBI acknowledged that the tip should have been shared with the FBI's Miami office and investigated, but it was not. The admission came as the agency was already facing criticism for its treatment of a tip about a YouTube comment posted last year. The comment posted by a "Nikolas Cruz" said, "Im going to be a professional school shooter."

The FBI investigated the remark but did not determine who made it.

FBI was too busy spying on political opponents and sleeping with one another.

Yep. Either that or the FBI was grooming the loser to do what he did.

As they did Sandy Hook.

Bet they didn't investigate because of the name..."CRUZ". Wanted to make sure there was no relation to Senator Cruz so it got tossed around...and around....and no one did a damn thing. Worried about a Latino/Congressman.

Dems don't want to offend Latinos. But if his name was Boris....there would have been 50 agents on it...

My bet: The FBI was told to stand down by the CIA. They planned to use (manipulate) Cruz for exactly this purpose.

I hope Cruz is being heavily guarded and watched carefully so he isn’t murdered/suicided like Lee Harvey Oswald. I’d like to see the truth come out.

Sorry. But it is too easy and wrong to blame the FBI. The real falt lies with the local authorities and the rules, regulations and restraints they have imposed on themselves dealing with dangerous lunatics. Remember Cruz was visited at least 39 times by local police, had innumerable contact with government social works and educators. None of those interventions, which strenuously respected his rights, were effective or protected the community They never did what needed to be doe. Al were careful to follow the rules and in the end protect themselves from criticism, complaints, lawsuits or loss of job. There were no street smart cops who knew how to handle the situation. If there were, they knew they would not get any support from superiors or politicians if they did what was needed. The FBI? Now we expect a national police agency to handle local problems? The problem is that this culture is conditioned to vent its emotional horror on inanimate objects such as guns rather than the murderous lunatic that was never stopped. Fundamental change needs to occur. People need to examine the politically correct attitudes and policies that handcuffed all those people who dealt with Cruz

Why would the CIA want to kill a bunch of teenagers? A POTUS back in 1963, sure. But teenagers in Florida?

The FBI was too busy chasing non-existent Trump-Russia collusion leads. Wray should be fired. Then Rosenliar, then Sessions. All should be fired.

Wrong. When organizations dishonored the people and/or State, the organization was decimated. Trump should invoke decimatio and sack 3500 (10% of the FBI) and put the sword the person that dropped the ball. In public!

It’s not about their teenage victims, it’s about their goal of co-operative gun confiscation from the willing sheeple so they have total control with no resistance.

Failed to investigate? How do we KNOW they didn’t actually GROOM him, egg him on, and even supply him with the AR-15, ammo and assure him he wouldn’t be shot. Howcome he’s still breathing? To draw attention away from Mueller, Comey, McCabe, Obola, et al?

It’s not that they wanted to kill teens, it’s because they wanted a disruption, a distraction, and another reason to call for gun control to disarm the population.

They do NOT care who they hurt, so long as it’s not one of their own. They have no problem taking down a whole planeload of people to get a single target.

They are using panic and fear as a weapon.

There is no question the FBI made serious screw ups and their leadership needs purging. The bad part of blaming the entire organization is there are GOOD, conscientious, hard working people within that organization who are taking a hit due to poor management and leadership, much like a few bad apples spoiling the whole basket.

You make a very good point.

FBI has a big problem, though. They are front and center every day with office affairs on company time on company phones, contempt for the office of the presidency goes with contempt for US citizens who pay them, spending multi millions on a case that was invented. Losing managers from the top down once a month

They’re seen as not doing their job, at the very least.

We all have to deal with political correctness. Not wanting to get involved for all obvious reasons. The cops might come out relatively sympathetic here, with 39 calls and all. Especially as they seem to have their eyes open to real problems

The FBI has a big problem

They’re running around spying on US citizens war heroes, grilling them until they say “blue...no I meant red! Aaah!”

And some people even see them as an arm to clintonia, bumbling everything since taking over tea 800

But what do I know

I just did a quick Facebook search on the name Nikolas Cruz. The shooter's first name has a somewhat unique spelling, which narrows the population. On September 24, Cruz used that same spelling when he commented on BenTheBondsman's You Tube channel. His site on Facebook has been taken down so it is uncertain if he used Nikolas Cruz to set up his Facebook page. However, I just ran his name in Facebook and I came up with eight (nine with the subjects) names that matched the spelling, which means the Bureau had a rather minuscule number of Nikolas Cruzes to run down. I used no other filters for my search like age, etc, which would likely narrow it further. The You Tube post was way back in September, so time was not an issue.

The problem I’ve found with most LEOs (including family members) is the majority of the good ones cover for the few bad ones ... it’s that ‘brotherhood’ thing ... same as other thug groups ...

...and folks this here is the whole reason of the indictments yesterday...

to take the FBI out of the new cycle because they screwed up so bad on this and 17 people are dead...

Orlando; San Bernadino; Columbine; Boston; Las Vegas; and we could keep on going...

It's so sad what we've allowed our government to become for at least the last 100 years, all for the benefit of tyranny. We can only hope and pray Americans wake up from this commie-style slumber.

One of my employees told me yesteday that Jimmy Kimmel had made a great point, something about Trump passing a law that facilitated this shooting in some way. This young lady is an otherwise somewhat bright Chemistry major at USF. We’d never talked politics prior to this.

What would Cruz have done if he didn’t have access to social media, take out an ad in the Sunday paper?
