But they arrested him. The parents should she this woman into bankruptcy.
Next thing you know they'll have a corrupt hack indicting Internet trolls for supposedly influencing a presidential election.
I would be curious what charge you could make in this particular arrest. It doesn’t sound like he conveyed a ‘threat’. Beyond that, the judge has to be amused how much paperwork will be created over a non-event.
This would bring a new problem if you sat and pondered upon this long enough. Kid X attends school, and is 17 or less....so he’s safe and will not own a gun. Kid Y turns 18 in the early part of the 12th grade...so he can legally purchase and own a gun. If you used the idiot logic, kid Y is now a potential threat because he can legally own a weapon. You’d have to wrap up high school requirements before the kid turns 18....if you used this logic.
Principal Amanda. You can stop reading right there and know where the story is going. This is the pussification of America, inculcated by triggered she-devils of government education. We are destined to be ruled by stronger people.
Yell “fire” in a crowded theater and there will be trouble. First Amendment is no protection.
But saying, “I can buy a gun”? That crosses the line? No First Amendment protection? No Second Amendment protection?
These are the people who want us in gulags. They can’t make that happen today — there are two amendments that aren’t quite totally annihilated yet. But they’re working on it.
But... wasn’t the student just repeating exactly what they were told by every media outlet, comedy show, hollywood presentation and democrat / socialist / communist / progressive / marxist / maoist / leninist on the planet ?
Didn’t Piers Morgan and his ilk just say that anyone could get a gun ?
And some people really want to believe that leftist dingbats running schools are competent to carry weapons and protect their kids. Very soft headed.
Some kids say that sort of thing just to brag and impress (intimidate) others. Often times that’s all it is, an empty brag. I understand a school would not want to take risks, especially in the wake of those 17 deaths.
Suspension and counseling may have been a better choice.
Noun-pronoun agreement. Didn't that used to be taught in what, first grade?
SOP: Under response to a real threat. Over response to a nonexistent threat.
Arrested for ‘saying he could buy an AR-15’; so now the 1st amendment is under siege as well as the 2nd? Looks like lawsuit time.
Sounds like the folks out of control are the principal and the police.
The kid now has an arrest record forever and is probably feeling very intimidated. Mission accomplished, assholes.
I hope he sues and wins big.
I accompanied Mrs. JimRed to some medical testing today. While in the waiting area I spotted a copy of SHOOTING in the magazine rack. There was a near-life sized photo of a semi-automatic pistol on the cover. As I sat there reading I made sure that it was held so the cover was easily visible to any passersby. Some of the looks I got (I assume from liberals) were priceless!
To me the principal is not at fault here.
The police on the other hand should know better.
They should have told the principal that they can not arrest the kid for making non-specific threats.
Then the police should have councilled the kid in a private room that making such statements will bring him undesirable attention.
Then his parents should have been notified of his stupid behavior.
I would think that the police are at fault here and not the principal. Although the principal did act stupidly.
Maybe if he said, “Any number of us could have purchased that sort of weapon”, they would have acted against the whole student body......
Major lawsuit coming.
It is a well-established fact that he could have easily gone into New York City, or any local ghetto and purchased a gun.
He did not say he could legally purchase the gun, nor was his true statement for a reasonable person to be in fear of imminent harm.
Big bucks settlement.
