Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday called on Congress to look into issues related to gun violence less than 24 hours after 17 people were killed in a school shooting in Florida.

“I will say, personally, I think the gun violence — it’s a tragedy what we’ve seen yesterday, and I urge Congress to look at these issues,” Mnuchin said at a House Ways and Means Committee hearing.

Mnuchin’s comments were notable, because he was the first senior Trump administration official to call for a congressional review after the massacre. He was responding to questions from Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) about whether there was any money in President Trump’s new budget to address gun violence.

A Treasury Secretary should have little to no concern with firearms in the scope of their duties.

That he does speaks volumes about how screwed up we are.

Imagine if the EPA was in charge of the Marines.

______________________________________________________________

What he should do is to call on Congress, and especially the FBI to investigate why the FBI and other agencies do jack sh!t about known threats like Cruz.

Most mass murderers are well known to government agencies well before the go ballistic.

There is nothing more frightening in the world than a politician who wants to Do Something.

Significant treasure will be spilled for massive reports that will be read by no one but Steps Taken to revoke freedoms For Our Own Good.

Guns aren’t violent, Steve.

People are violent.

Violence is a characteristic of human beings.

Assigning human characteristics to inanimate objects is both insane and stupid.

Frankly, sir, you should resign. I have no use for insane, stupid people in my government.

This is Mnuchin, not Manchin.

Not that I'd put it past Manchin to open his sewer about gun control.

PATRICK MORRISEY FOR US SENATE!!!

The good news is that the talking points of the right have become so refined and iron clad, there is not a problem regarding gun rights.

Just sick Ben Shapiro on them. :)

Hey Munchkin - how about reversing the policies that emptied out the insane asylums and gave the mentally ill the power to decide that they dind't need no stinking interference, thereby handcuffing those who might be able to intervene...

Recent evidence is the homeless in Kalifornia who were squatting and being public nuisances - they were moved out and some idiot "judge" ordered the folks moving them to give them housing vouchers - which they will use as toilet paper after they defecate on the sidewalks.

What exactly is “Congressional Review”?

Congress has been Investigating the previous Administration weaponizing the Federal Government against Private Citizens representing the opposing Political Party and I've yet to see the Guilty Parties in Orange Jumpsuits and Ankle Chains.

Instead we get a bunch of Politicos scheming to attack our Constitutional Rights.
