“What would you propose? No you specifically, everyone reading this question.”

The money collected was intended to be used for roads and then the greedy Congress looked at that big pile of money and dumped it into the general fund to be squandered in trade for votes.

We ought to get the first bit of money back by taking every single thing those who voted the money into general fund own. Down to the shirt off of their backs. They should spend the remainder of their miserable lives living in a homeless shelter with absolutely nothing to call their own.

The existing fuel tax isn’t used for infrastructure. It goes into the General Fund and pissed away. If you want to feed the swamp, increase fuel taxes.

President Trump endorsed a 25-cent gas tax hike to pay for infrastructure

*************

Is he talking about adding 25 cents to the current 18.4 cent federal gasoline tax
or is he saying raise the current tax form 18.4 to 25 cents?

A large difference.....

Any tax hike is absolute BS so long as we have millions of foreigners swarming in here costing taxpayers a fortune. Did you read Ann Coulters Twitters posts today? She listed just a few of the rip offs........

http://www.telegram.com/news/20160711/worcester-woman-behind-36m-food-stamp-fraud-gets-year-in-jail

https://www.justice.gov/usao-ednc/pr/raleigh-convenient-store-owner-sentenced-78-months-food-stamp-fraud

https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdky/pr/louisville-business-owner-sentenced-33-months-food-stamp-fraud

And look at this one, read this if you want to get ticked off.......

“South Florida reached another fraud milestone for what the Justice Department called “the largest combined financial fraud loss for a food stamp trafficking takedown in history.

That dubious new record, federal prosecutors claim, is $20 million and resulted in a dozen charged with doing the government dirty via food stamp fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

The 12 charged over four cases are Hasan Saleh, 59, Mohammed Alobaisi, 37, Reynold Francois, 38, Ihab Hassouna, 44, Mohammad Alteen, 33, Maria Jerdana, 36, Joe Ann Baker, 56, Yousef “Joe” Homedan Zahran, 60, Omar Hajje, 43, Jalal Hajyousef, 42, Andy Javier Herrera, 24, and father Javier Herrera, 49.”

Isn’t axios a far left kook website?

Yes, and the only reason they're against a tax hike is because Trump proposed it.

Question: How long since the Federal gas tax was increased?

Why even bother with an unnecessary TAX, in fact All taxes are unnecessary from a funding standpoint. We created a Bank with an unlimited authority to print money that we can borrow in to circulation.

Yes it is and Trump said it was something he would consider (.25 gas tax hike) “among several other things”

A god businessman NEVER rejects a proposal without a thorough consideration, including impact studies etc.

I am for consumption taxes over income taxes.

Except that isn't what happens. All we get is a consumption tax thrown on top of our income taxes.

IMO, the feds have no business taxing and spending on any roads except the Interstate system. All other roads are the states' responsibility.

Starve the Beast. More money, regardless of the source is never a solution.

According to two unnamed sources?.......LOL!

Lets see, Trump wants to increase but Republicans aren’t about to hike taxes for the Trump voters driving their pickup trucks to work every day.

Translation: Trump bad, Republicans good..........

Anyone ( finally ) going to support my plan ?

1) Eliminate Federal Gas Tax
2) Fully Privatize All Interstates with zero regulatory oversight
3) Use money raised to pay off national debt

Highway Socialism never works - let the free market do its magic
