FBI Has 'Grave Concerns About Material Omissions of Fact that Impact' Nunes Memo's 'Accuracy'

WASHINGTON -- The FBI slammed the four-page memo prepared by staff of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) as containing "material omissions of fact" while maintaining that they take FISA warrants seriously.

The memo, which the committee voted along party lines Monday to declassify, reportedly alleges that the FBI used the Steele dossier to renew FISA monitoring of Trump campaign adviser Carter Page without letting the judge who signed off on the order know that the Clinton campaign paid for the latter half of Fusion GPS' investigation with former MI6 operative Christopher Steele.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has said that some of the details in the Steele dossier have been corroborated as true, while other details have not been corroborated or disproven. The dossier said Page, who has admitted to traveling to Russia during the presidential campaign but said it was for personal reasons, met with Russia's state-owned oil company Rosneft during his Trump campaign tenure.

The White House has a few days left to review the memo and decide if it should remain classified. If they do nothing by the end of the five-day review period, the memo would go public.

FBI Director Christopher Wray went to Capitol Hill on Sunday to look at the memo for the first time. On Monday, the committee's GOP majority shot down a request from Ranking Member Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to first bring the FBI and Justice Department before the committee to address lawmakers' concerns.

"The FBI takes seriously its obligations to the FISA Court and its compliance with procedures overseen by career professional in the Department of Justice and the FBI," the Bureau said in a statement today. "We are committed to working with the appropriate oversight entities to ensure the continuing integrity of the FISA process."

"....FBI Has 'Grave Concerns About Material Omissions of Fact that Impact' Nunes Memo's 'Accuracy'...."

Nunes has grave concerns that the perpetrators are being allowed to change the evidence against them.

LAW OF UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES The five agents who converged on Capitol Hill
provided five (count 'em) five witnesses that there were NO “material” changes to the memo

So hysterical lefties like Schifty cannot claim there were changes and that the FBI found “material
omissions” ......... because there are FIVE FBI WITNESSES to swear that there were no changes.

FINAL SOLUTION.....dumb lefties have to try to attack the FBI......after defending them. (hat tip LS)

As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy."

OK, so issue a press release with the added data.

Once the memo is released, it will start a whole bunch of talk and memos.

The Bureau not only looks bad by trying to conceal the truth - as it has been doing with its stonewalling for months - it is reinforcing the belief that the Bureau is involved in a cover-up and the contention that some Bureau people need to go to prison.

Apparently, the truth, in this case, is a whole helluva lot worse than the perception.

Nunes made a very very subtle return zinger in his response when he said the FBI was familiar with omissions of facts. Like when they failed to give Congress all the information they had.

Some details that are true:

1.Carter Page was a low level advisor on one of the campaign committees because he was supposed to be an academic with a study of Russian economy.

2. Carter Page has contacts in Russia and actually went to Russia. (Because that is how he makes a living as a consultant on Russian affairs, Dummy.)

When the Carter Page BS fell apart some one leaked to the media that is was really Popadaplous. That flew about as far the Titanic. So then they moved into obstruction of Justice. I am beginning to think Flynn will walk.

and Sessions is where?

Some people are saying that the memo will remove all reasons for Sessions to recuse himself from Russia or other such investigations. Theoretically, he will be fully available to press the President's legal agenda. We will see if it plays out that way or if he sleeps on.

Who at the FBI slammed it. A generic the FBI slammed it is useless. Name names or don’t report it.

Hell if they keep fighting over it, February being a short month, the whole IG report will be ready.

I’m not so sure a “non-partisan” report wouldn’t be better at this time. Hell maybe this is all high theater so that when Dems concoct a new narrative of the memo that they’ll be seen as lying.

You mean how the game is played. I doubt our Founding Fathers ever meant for it to be played this way.

The Democrats are slowly being led into radicalism by the “three blind mice”...(insane Nancy Pelosi, Schmuck Schumer, and “Little Dick” Durbin). As time goes by and that party sinks lower and lower away from traditional American values and closer to “nanny state” socialism, the voting public will hopefully realize this is the wrong course for the country.
