Across the United States, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Christians are coming out of the closet. For many of them, finding acceptance within the church can be a test of faith.

The answer is in verse 11:
“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
There is only one unforgivable sin, that is blasphemy against Holy Ghost. Not sure about your question in that regard, because many do not even know what that is... In book of Hebrews.
That comes with repentance. My point was how many who judge homosexuals are themselves knowingly guilty of sins they haven’t repented of?
My point exactly All sin leads to total and eternal separation from God. There is not one sin less than another. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is refusal to believe in the One He leads us to and testifies to, leaving no option for forgiveness of sin. There is no forgiveness outside Christ.
Everyone in the church is supposed to “come out” as a sinner who has fallen short and repent and seek forgiveness for the same. The sins of “LGBTQ” individuals are no greater than any of the rest of us. However, we are not supposed to embrace and affirm our sins and argue they are okay...that is the opposite of repentance and forgiveness.
Guilty of? Most or all. But the crux here is that your preacher will/should be preaching against those sins and have an expectation for you to hear, experience conviction that you are doing wrong, and to repent of it.
Jesus did not say “Go now and sin some more”. A thief, adulterer, a drunk or a LGBT person is acceptable in church to hear of their sin and change. No amount of relativistic word-twisting can justify continuing sin.
Theres no such thing as LB.... Christians.
You have some odd ideas of what sin is heh.
I constantly drive about 123 or so in a 110 zone.
Is an abominable sin worse than other sins?
I suppose that next the polygamists, adulterers and fornicators will be coming out of the giant walk-in, walk-out closet in the bedroom of the the “Church of What’s Happenin’ NOW!” Rev. Flip Wilson, pastor.
No, but an abominable snowman is worse than a regular snowman.
You can take that up with the Lord. The purpose of the Law handed down to Moses wasn't to condemn us, it was to show us that as we are fallen from grace, NONE of us can uphold God's Law. Period.
When the Jews were about to stone to death a woman they believed to be a prostitute, who did Jesus say could cast the first stone to kill her?
Did he say only those who haven't stolen could cast the first stone?
Did he say those who didn't covet their neighbor's livestock could stone her to death?
No, he said anyone who had not committed a sin could cast the first stone. Period. Jesus was clearly saying all sin separates us from the love of God.
What you are advocating is frankly speaking, bullshit.
The Greek & Hebrew words most used when talking about 'Sin' are archery terms meaning, "you missed the target". And what IS that target?
34 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 22:34-40
The 'Target' we must aim for is to love God with all of our being. When we miss that target, the Biblical term is 'Sin'. All words, thoughts and deeds contrary to loving God and our neighbors are sins. However, some sins do far more damage to our neighbors.
If I said a child claims to be a transgender, would I be correct in claiming he/she is the victim of child abuse by its parents???
For some reason I’m thinking of a variation of the parable on those who go home justified based on their attitude in prayer that features a third man besides the publican and the Pharisee whose internal commentary is something along he lines of: “Oh, Mr Holy Roller is WORKING those robes! Faaaabulous!” while merely acting like he was in prayer.
Of course it says something about our society and how far it has wandered down the Romans 1:18-32 Road that I can even contemplate folks that may actually make self-righteous Pharisees look good by comparison.
Where such bs comes from is beyond me.
Nor do we recruit fellow sinners, especially not the young. The LGBQT community does that.
Great answer.
If they have the urges and remain celibate, and do not chemically and surgically alter their bodies even though they feel driven to do so, they deserve our compassion. Christ died for their sins too.
Even if they have done evil, as we all have, He will forgive if they ask it.
And “Churches” are allowing it. As any Pastor/Priest worth his salt would tell us, it isn’t the Church’s job to be changed by society, it is their job to reach out and try to change society to instill awareness of and reverence for God.
