The Pentagon scrubbed its latest National Defense Strategy of all references to climate change, an Orwellian rhetorical shift away from a scientific reality at an agency that has long avoided the issue’s politics.
A summary document released Friday morning makes no mention of “climate,” “warming,” “planet,” “sea levels” or even “temperature.” All 22 uses of the word “environment” refer to the strategic or security landscape. The 11-page memo, signed by Defense Secretary James Mattis, is the first update to the policy in a decade.
It’s unlikely the Department of Defense will release a full National Defense Strategy report; instead, the document is expected to remain classified. The Pentagon did not immediately return a call requesting comment.

As they well should - no amount of policies nor money will halt the alleged climate change - one cannot halt an ongoing ever-changing natural planetary process despite ‘man-made’ claims and assertions.
It’s notoriously more difficult to forecast climate. Were it easy, we’d not have these climate trend debates.

Talk about a quote from Backward World — the INCLUSION of “climate change” was the politics. The exclusion makes the NDS apolitical again.
AGW cannot now nor has it EVER been able to make accurate predictions about what will happen in the future. Thus it cannot be part of ANY plan. By definition.

Good start, in a department that has been sorely lacking in positive reform under Mattis. Don’t suppose we’ll see a return to all-male infantry or anythi g else of umport though, judging by Mattis’s weak performance thus far on policy.
