I do NOT believe that Ryan can “appoint’ anyone to succeed him.
Close. I think the Senate Majority Leader is after the Speaker.
However, I seem to recall that there is nothing that says the Speaker of the House has to be a sitting member of Congress. This came up a few years ago when the GOPe was having their standard internecine cat fight over who would succeed the twit before Ryan. IIRC, Newt Gingrich's name was bandied about as a "compromise" candidate.
If true, and the Dems win the Congress in 2018, as they firmly believe, they could install Hitlery as Speaker, then force DJT and Pence out of office in quick order due to impeachment or other coercion.
Sorry to spoil everyone's breakfast (I think I just threw up in my mouth), but ya never know. The Dems are so power mad they would do anything to further mess up the US.
