Can’t help with details of the race but I find it interesting
that his seat had a large swing in voting from 23.6% GOP
win in 2016 to a loss this year by 9%.
A good chunk are looking at retiring rather than being put out. We dont know for sure and I doubt wed get an honest answer if we asked. Whats key is looking at the relative number of rat versus gop retirements. If the percentage of gop is higher, and it seems to be, then something is likely afoot.
As for what to do about it, I dont favor political solutions to what are largely cultural and spiritual dilemmas. Heck, politics and solution dont belong in the same sentence. Were far better off looking for solutions OUTSIDE politics that might actually work.
Yeah, voted for him in the primaries & had a pro-Trump blog & Twitter I started during the campaign season.
So they’d prefer liberals that aren’t conservative and aren’t pro-second amendment?
Moreover, poll after poll shows Trump voters staying with him at greater than a 93% tally. Yet you continue to want a narrative about Trump and his style causing issues in other political races without really any proof whatsoever.
So why all the negative chatter?
Id take that bet. Although I prefer it be in the form of a donation to FR or charity.
The gop is going to get shellacked and will lose the House. The senate more up in the air. Kinda tough to lose when your opponent has more seats in play. But the gop is nothing if not skilled at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Oh and politics is still a scam and were suckers for playing.
Unfortunately every race from dogcatcher up has been nationalized. What can I say? Politics sucks and is evil. On a good day.
Just by way of full disclosure: I supported PDJT in the primaries. Campaigned for him, regularly did door knocks, did more social media then I was comfortable with, voted and worked the polls on Election Day. I dont regret it for one second.
All that said, politics is a poor way to accomplish anything. Ive participated in a grand total of 2 elections that actually mattered in 40 years. I doubt Ill live to see another one.
RECAP: There were 5 special elections today in the states of Iowa, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.
Republicans won 4 of the seats, and elected 2 women in SC, with democrats picking off a senate seat in Wisconsin. Vote in every election, folks.

The party out of power is often more motivated that the party in power. Why do you think Obama lost over 1,000 seats? The left is coming out in large part to stick it to Trump and the GOP. If Hillary was President, the converse might be happening because the Dems wouldn’t be motivated. Their voter turn outs in elections has been very good in Alabama, Virginia, etc. They’ve flipped 34 districts - some districts that Trump and Republicans won. We can put our heads in the sand, pretend this isn’t going on, and then pretend to be shocked in the midterms if the Dems take the House, or we can take this in mind and use it as a warning sign for the midterms. Many people will vote as a referendum on Trump and the GOP just as we came out in 2010 as a referendum on Obama.
Yeah, can’t have any bad truths told here.
Ed
The people who voted for Trump and aren’t voting now just don’t see the serious negatives of a democrat politician. WTF, are they really that dense?
As long as RINOS, lazy idiots like Ryan, McConnell, Gang of 6, keep sabotaging President Trump, it won’t matter how much we do, the radical liberals will retake congress with their help. And will keep destroying America.
Bad candidates lose. Good candidates win.
