Senator Murray’s Statement on Vote to Roll Back Net Neutrality Rules
U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) ^ | Dec 14, 2017 | U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA)

Posted on 12/14/2017 2:23:40 PM PST by mdittmar

(Washington, D.C.) Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement:

“Despite the pleas of millions of Americans, President Trump’s FCC voted to change the internet as we know it, and turn it into yet another money-making tool for large corporations. This move is shameful and wrong, and I encourage the many, many people affected by today’s decision—from students and families, to small business owners and the next generation of innovators—to keep fighting back. We will not forget who and what comes first in the Trump/Republican agenda.”

Obozo and Murray are against Trump in this issue.

That is all that I need to know.

Obama and Murray have never been for anything that benefits me, my family, relatives and friends.

The same rule applies if Pelosi/Schummer,Lieawatha,Juan McAinal and ________ fill in the blank, are for any legislation, it is bad for us. If they against it, it is good for us.

And if Comcast were to do that to you, and if you were sufficiently pissed and dissatisfied with the charge difference, you’d find another, less expensive source for your Netflix. That’s what competition is about, better service at better prices.

I dont understand anything about it. I understand that Netflix will go up in price. It has twice already with NN. No difference after.

NN requires all internet traffic to be treated the same regardless of size or usage. So, if they open a firehose to enable fast streaming of your 4K Netflix content, they also have to open a firehose for me to surf a primarily text-based, low-bandwidth site like Free Republic. How does that make sense? “Require” And “have to” are key words here. Do you think Obama and the left-wing activists who have been pushing NN since the internet was open to the greater public care about your streaming experience or if you have to pay more or less? NN is about turning the last bastion of freedom into another heavily-regulated public utility.

It is really more about Comcast charging Netflix to guarantee they get extra bandwidth so you get a better streaming experience, or throttling chistianmovies.com because they can’t afford to pay to play. Understand there was no net neutrality until a couple years ago, and the internet seemed to work ok.

“I am a Comcast customer, the way things are now, Comcast can not charge me extra if I use Amazon or Netflix to stream a movie. “

First, Comcast really sucks,
Second, they already can “charge extra” because most plans are tiered. Streaming eats up data pretty quickly, you go over your cap and you pay more.

In my area the Comcast/Xfinity DVR has a Netflix ap loaded. Guess they don’t consider Netflix competition. Odd thing is, the ap doesn’t work well at all. Good thing the Samsung has a ton of apps that DO work. Netflix, Amazon, on and on.

“...I don’t care what Senator Murray thinks or has to say about anything. You can add Schumer, Clinton, Pelosi, Waters etc to that statement too.”

If the Democrats seize control of Congress, they’ll MAKE you care!

We’re at war, FRiend.

The big fear that ISPs will start charging for everything have long known that the instant they do that, that pay service will go full ghost town, near zero hits and be bankrupt in a week. It’s been business gamed out. No company will want access to their product or service to cost money before any of their bread and butter product or service is purchased. The masses will find a way around anything like that and buy from a competitor.

Thanks mdittmar.
Despite the pleas of millions of Americans...
...who voted for Trump for President, the whining from the anti-American leftist Demagogic Party never stops. Y'know, until they start the shooting war.

Net Neutrality is the same as global warming.

Define a potential problem, even if unlikely to happen, and then go after it with regulations, and money, and government control.

IOW, NN is a solution to a problem that never existed, and might never exist. The only “problem” that existed with the internet, is that the government wasn’t regulating it, and that’s the problem that the democrats saw, but decided to define it as something different.

The short list of NetNeutrality supporters:

1) People who don’t know what Net Neutrality is
2) Socialists
3) People who want their neighbors to pay for their 24hr-a-day Netflix habit
4) Twitter bots
5) Countries who hate the US & want to ensure it loses its technology edge

According to wikipedia, she did not make it to kindergarten - she was a preschool teacher.

Sooo embarrassed that she (and her cohort in crime Cantwell) is the Senator from my state - USSR-WA.

> The internet,as a money-making tool?

Don’t accept their premises.

Like everything else leftist, the title they give is the opposite of what it does. Gun control is actually people control; “progressive” taxes actually keep people pinned in poverty; and “Net Neutrality” give the leftist bosses at Google, Facebook, and Twitter license to stifle free speech.

Always a feigned crisis; always an appeal to emotion; and always control by the leftist elite against the ‘common’ man and freedom.
