Condemn the New York attacker, but respect Bangladesh
Washington Examiner ^ | Dec 11, 2017 | Tom Rogan

Posted on 12/11/2017 2:00:19 PM PST by Oshkalaboomboom

Don't read too much into the fact that Akayed Ullah, the suspect in Monday's New York terrorist attack, is a Bangladeshi immigrant to the United States.

While Bangladesh is a predominantly Muslim nation, it is no hotbed of terrorism and shouldn't be added to Trump's travel ban list.

Of course, some aligned with the alt-right are jumping on Ullah's citizenship as further evidence of America's looming infection by Muslim extremism. Take John Cardillo...

John Cardillo @johncardillo Thank God Bangladeshi pipe bombs are the same shitty quality as everything else made in Bangladesh. 3:27 PM - Dec 11, 2017

John Cardillo‏ @johncardillo Suspect in custody. Between the beard and him being from predominantly Muslim Bangladesh, I think we now know the motive.

Americans should have two problems with those tweets.

First, while more than 100,000 Bangladeshis live in the United States, very few of them have any nexus to terrorism. Instead, they came to America to work hard and provide better lives for their families. Indeed, especially relevant to today's news, the New York Police Department boasts a good number of Bangladeshi-American police officers. That's no coincidence; as former NYPD officer John Cardillo should know, the Bangladeshi-American community makes a point of encouraging law enforcement careers.

Second, while Bangladesh does struggle with occasional outbursts of violent Islamic extremism, its government and military take aggressive action of a far more coordinated and humanitarian nature than that of, say, Pakistan. The Bangladeshi armed forces also operate as an increasingly capable American ally. Moreover, while Bangladesh struggles with corruption, its political culture is more liberal than that of many other Muslim nations: next month, Bangladesh will have been led by a female Prime Minister for nearly nine years.

Consider, also, that this relative stability defines a deeply impoverished nation of 165 million people. The ingredients of terrorist recruitment would seem to thrive in Bangladesh and yet, for whatever reason, they do not thrive.

So yes, the New York attacker might be a complete loser. But don't blame his national origins on his negative acts; the Bangladeshi people deserve American respect and the right to be able to visit our country if they so desire.

What do they contribute? The occasional doctor? They demand their own set of rights. They believe that they can commit horrendous acts upon the infidel (theft, rape, murder). They treat women like crap. Worse than crap, really. They are terrible citizens. They exist in complete opposition to the Constitution. They detest Jews and Christians. Why would we allow them to come here.

Inasmuch as islam is incompatible with western democracy and man made laws and further since muslims are directed by their “owners manual” not to assimilate, anyone infected by it should not be allowed to immigrate, regardless of country of origin.

Hey! Even though the latest terrorist attack was by an ‘eastern’ murderous barbarian the rest of the ‘eastern’ murderous barbarians are a peaceful people who know only hugs and happy smiles.

The traitorous media is trying hard to avert any further
scrutiny on Bangladesh which probably indicates the place is a hotbed for Jihadis, terrorist plots, IEDs, WMDs, et al.

Yeah - replace Bangladesh with gun owners. I’m sure the author feels the exact same way.

“Condemn the New York attacker, but respect Bangladesh”

Why?
Like Mexico and countless other 3rd world ****holes, if Bangladesh deserved respect their citizens wouldn’t flee their countries and want to move here.
And now yet another muslim, a Bangalore torpedo, tried to kill us. But we should respect them ...
Get outta here with that BS!

We need a complete moratorium on (real) immigration until we figure out (things like) how to return a plane load of Somalis to their own country without having to turn around in Senegal and return them all here because the guy in charge of the charter flight screwed up.

Whatever, the most important thing is to avoid any backlash against Moslems. I’m sure Moslem leaders around the US are already issuing their warnings against Islamophobia.

"We have enough livery drivers and airport bus drivers."

I noticed it about 20 years ago. Every muslim who has a job has one that requires sitting on his fat ass: taxi driver, toll booth attendant, used car salesman. I've never seen a muslim involved in manual labor or any form of physical exertion.

In contrast, I must say I do respect the work ethic of a lot of our Mexicans invaders. At least a lot of their young men are fit and strong from hard work. They come here and start doing drywall, framing carpentry, etc. I've never seen a muslim work hard ever.

“...it is no hotbed of terrorism”

Sort of depends on your definition of “hotbed” and “terrorism”. Does numerous people hacked to death for posting internet comments deemed as blaspheming Islam count? I’m not sure of the gross numbers of such attacks.
