Obama, with his 8 year practice of racism, identity politics & lawlessness, turned the country against itself. Trump was left with the mess. When the “right” normies (middle America, Christians, conservatives, hard working bluecollars, etc.) elected Trump because he would fight for them as opposed to the usual spineless Repub ‘uniparty’ candidates who went along with globalism, open borders, & accumulating more money/power for themselves, will of the people be d@mned, then Trump gets blamed for a “civil war”.

If Hilly had been elected, I believe a CW would have been the result & probably one that involved shooting, too.

Yes, why are you still here Omar?

Ask yourself that . . . oh, right, you already have and you love it here

That’s the reality.

Oh, and that Barack Obama was “supposed” to be the healer, uniter et al

Ask yourself this also, Omar. What happened during those 8 years? Why did the “Unity” slogan disappear after Nov 2008?

Have trouble answering Omar? Or just too busy wiping the egg off your “color” face?

Amazing, he manages to gloss over the Fact that all the evils in America he whines about were done by the Democrat Party.

Omar, MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY!

The division is real. It also started long before Trump thought about running for President.

I am an immigrant in a country that purports to be a melting pot but is in reality a crucible, a vessel of fierce and fiercely luminous burning.

Well, some immigrants require more heat to "melt". And we *do* possess the "heat".

I read enough of his diatribe to understand he’s as clueless as most of the liberals who do not understand how vaginius maximus lost. Just because the media still drums for the left does not mean that represents the majority in this country. The majority had enough of the BS. They voted for Trump.

This was an extraordinarily ugly and hate-filled screed. The pseudo-intellectuals on the left are all but boiling over with impotent rage.

What can I do to push them over the edge?

Now, as we enter the 2018 midterm season, we still have some who just can’t stand that Trump won, that he’s president, and that Hillary Clinton will never be president—ever. Enter Gloria Steinem who says she doesn’t think Trump is president because he lost by 10 million votes. No, he didn’t

I have news for you Omar; America has been pretty sharply divided since the election of Richard Nixon.

The Deep Red Left in this country hated Nixon and would not accept him as president. I don’t know why because Nixon was damned liberal himself.

After Nixon the Left went to war against Ronald Regan. Anyone who was conscious during the 1980s knew that the Left was ecstatic when Regan was shot by John Hinkley.

Then came the Bushes and again the Left could not bear the thought of either Bush in the White House. The Left made up tall tales and lies of every kind to prevent his election. And in Florida they tried to recount the votes until Man-Bear-Pig (Al Gore) won.

No, this country has been sharply divided since the Viet Nam War and the Communist Party of America invaded and took control of the Democrat Party.

Communist by their nature demand a single party system and any time they are not in total control they must attack constantly until they have regained control. The Democrat Party can no longer fit in to the roll of the 'Loyal Opposition'.

“It’s 2075, and America has been beset by flooding linked to climate change. The President has banned the use of fossil fuels. The southern states have broken away, looking to protect the coal mining industry. A rabid civil war is taking place. A weakened America sees new empires in China and the Middle East meddling in its affairs — and Mexico has annexed most parts of the Southwest, from Texas to California. “

“This dystopian world is the setting for a new novel, American War, by Omar El Akkad — who spent much of his career as a journalist with Canada’s Globe and Mail covering real disasters and conflicts. El Akkad says that of all the characters he created for the book, only one came to him fully-formed: Sarat Chestnut, the young girl at the center of the story. “At the start of the book she’s six years old,” he says, “and to me she’s sort of this very curious, trusting, defiant young girl whose chief attribute is this kind of rebellion against unknowing. She wants to know as much as possible. And the central arc of the book is essentially her life, and how her desire to know, her curiosity, is sort of used against her during this war.”

Yep, not surprising he wound up living in Portland Oregon.
