When Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, and Kathleen Willey went public with their sexual assault and harassment allegations against Bill Clinton, #metoo was not a thing. “The victim must be believed” had not yet entered the lexicon.
Instead, these three courageous women have endured decades of attacks by Democrats, the media, and the Clintons. Only now, as the Clintons fall down the rabbit hole of irrelevancy, do their stories suddenly matter.
What Democrats don’t want to admit is that by protecting a serial sexual reprobate in the 1990s, they enabled 20 years of sexual harassment on countless innocent women by predatory men of every political stripe.
When the Lewinsky scandal surfaced in 1998, Democrats circled the wagons. The chorus was heard from sea to shining sex addiction rehab clinic: “it’s just sex!” With those three words, Democrats aided in the destructions of the moral fabric of the presidency, and provided cover for sexual harassment in every corner of American society until the Harvey Weinstein allegations.
Think about how different America might have been, if instead, citizens of every stripe demanded Clinton’s resignation. If people insisted that their president be held to a higher moral standard. If people didn’t say, “JFK did it,” but instead said, “This is unacceptable.” I know, I know – I’m talking to the same people who lionized Ted Kennedy after he drove Mary Jo Kopechne into a tidal channel and let her drown.
I’m just asking, “what if?”
Perhaps then, Paula Jones and Juanita Broadrrick and Kathleen Willey would have been believed. Perhaps they would have been championed for their bravery. Perhaps America would have demanded more from men in power. Perhaps women would not have been scared into silence for the next 20 years. Perhaps perpetrators would think twice about the ramifications of their actions. Perhaps that would have forestalled the repulsive and unacceptable stories that are only now coming to light.
Nope. Instead, those three little words sent a message to every creep lurking behind every desk with a “lock door” button within reach: it is open season on women.
This is part-and-parcel of how the Left operates. They are completely incapable of seeing unintended consequences of every word they speak, and every policy they endorse. The Left does not merely engage in knee-jerk responses. That’s being too kind. A response comes from the higher functions of the brain. The Left merely reacts with undeveloped herd mentality to every stimulus.
The result is sadly apparent. By rushing to the defense of Clinton’s indefensible behavior, Democrats locked in their support for the Clintons no matter what. The fact that Clinton got away with what he had done up until the Lewinsky scandal, and that Democrats gave him a pass, only served to embolden him. By refusing to condemn her husband’s behavior, and instead choosing to cravenly seek power, Hillary Clinton sold out every woman in America.
Yet deep inside every human, even Democrats, lurks a conscience that must be dealt with. The well-adjusted let Jiminy Cricket lead them to do the right thing. The mental illness of Leftism, however, crushes the little green fellow and instead internalizes the unforgivable. They become the most vociferous defenders of women’s rights. It is particularly odd given that the War on Women originated with Democratic opposition to the 19th Amendment.
“Every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be heard, believed, and supported” was tweeted by none other than Hillary Clinton. If it weren’t so profoundly enraging to sexual assault victims, one might think it was some kind of meta-prank.
Just to reiterate: this is not to say that sexual harassment is a partisan issue. It isn’t. It’s a cultural one. It just happened to be a culture fostered by the Left, which should hang its collective head in shame for enabling 20 years of terror.
They keep lumping Paula Jones in these “pass” dissertations, but she got her day in court....the other two didn’t.
No love lost here for Donna Shalalalalalala either but another character who deserves a share of blame is the slimebag lawyer Lanny Davis. He’s go on TV every night and chuckle at Slick Willy’s abuses of office and women as if it was a big joke. I’m sure he was well paid to yuk it up.
Lanny Davis was doing his job and if he didn’t do it some other lawyer would have. Donna was in a unique position to act as the conscience of the Democratic Party and she showed that they had no conscience, only politics. She was rewarded with a long career for her loyalty but she will get her judgment in the end.

The fact that she didn’t act as the conscience of the Democratic party pretty well sums up the Democratic party. People don’t join the Democratic party because they are nice. They join to get something; money, power, fame...an improved position. There hasn’t been a patriotic, do-it-for-the-right-reasons Democratic office holder in at least thirty years. Let’s face it, some people are just bad people. They are easy enough to spot, they have a D after their name. (Unless it’s an article about how they did something that is sending them to prison. Then you have to do research to find out they have a D after their name.)
When Daniel Patrick Moynihan died, so did the real Democratic party. Incidentally, the quote from him I remember is, “Politics is all about who gets, how much, and when.”

Linda Tripp assumed that when the Lewinsky information became public, most people would share her assessment of Bill Clinton’s behavior. It was a reasonable assumption. “If he’s not telling the truth, he’s done,” ABC’s Sam Donaldson said in the early days of the Lewinsky scandal in 1998.
But Donaldson, like Tripp and many others, underestimated the ability of the Clintons and their enablers to seize the narrative and to fashion from damning facts a defense.
The Clintons setup a tax-paid team to investigate what Hillary called "bimbo eruptions." It speaks to the Clinton depravity that he knew all of this was true and yet allowed tax dollars to be spent to save his political ***.
Clinton team’s first strategy was to attack Lewinsky.
Sidney Blumenthal, the former journalist and trusted confidant of Hillary Clinton, arranged a lunch with his friend the writer Christopher Hitchens in the hope of convincing him that Lewinsky was an unstable stalker.
Appalled by the effort by the president and his team of smear artists, Hitchens filed an affidavit testifying to Blumenthal’s effort.
But the whispering campaign was hardly subtle. It was widely enough known that Maureen Dowd wrote a New York Times column headlined “Liberties: The Slander Strategy.” “Inside the White House, the debate goes on about the best way to destroy That Woman, as the President called Monica Lewinsky,” Dowd wrote. “Should they paint her as a friendly fantasist or a malicious stalker?” (Hillary called her a “narcisisstic loony tune").
There were limits for even the most ardent Clinton supporters, though, Dowd noted: “At least some of the veteran Clinton shooters feel a little nauseated this time around, after smearing so many women who were probably telling the truth, labeling Clinton's victims as trashy bimbos.”
The strategy changed. The Lewinsky relationship was next a consensual affair between adults and a matter properly resolved within the privacy of the Clinton marriage.

According to FEC Info, an Internet Web site (www.tray.com) that tracks federal political contributions, 176 individual donors actually contributed $10,000 or more to the lewinsky-era Clinton Legal Expense Trust fund through Dec 1999. Another 21 donors gave $10,000 in the first six months of 2000.
Thanks to Hollyood’s generosity, a total of more than $2.2 million was raised in six months, which was notably more than was collected in funding during the previous four years of his presidency—combined.
Hollywood producers and stars made up the bulk of the most generous givers. They included:

Billionaire Harvey Weinstein raised $1,422,683 for federal candidates and political entities between 1990-2016. That’s small potatoes for his 27 years of rank Democratism, sucking up to feminism and upholding so-called abortion rights as he rampaged and assaulted young women. Adds up to about $5300 a year. Eileen Wellstone, 19-year-old English woman who said Clinton sexually assaulted her after she met him at a pub near the Oxford where the future President was a student in 1969. A retired State Department employee, who asked not to be identified, confirmed that he spoke with the family of the girl and filed a report with his superiors. Looking at the donation disclosure page of a high profile donor, on immediately noticed maxed out contributions by spouses and children on nearly the same day. Well, okay, what's wrong with that, isn't that normal?
Mining deeper however also reveals that throngs of employees also maxed out at the same time. Oh, must have been a fund raiser, eh. Well , when a raging bully such as Weinstein “suggests” thru various in-house cutouts that one’s career might suffer absent theses contributions. At some point only the new staff on board need to be told.
Thus the seemingly paltry direct max contribution is multiplied ten fold and more. What are not easy to indentify or quantify are the donations of ancillary connections, the sub-contractors whose livelihood depend on the “beneficence” of the big fish. Little Tammany Halls not visible to the public.
