That depends on where you live. In California we have permanent placards that hang from the rear window mirror. They’re free through the DMV. We also have disabled license plates but those you have to pay for. We also have temporary placards that hang from the mirror.

Are you sure about that? I think Fed law doesn’t allow charging for the Handicap plate.

There are 10’s of thousands of fraudulent ones in CA, I heard the other day that there are something like 27,000 listed for people over 100 and only 6 or 8 thousand centenarians in the whole state.
