Would Rob Reiner screen new movie 'LBJ' for Donald Trump:'I would never go to his White House'

Add Rob Reiner to the list of celebrities who wouldn’t accept an invitation to visit Donald Trump’s White House.

Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment about his timely new political drama, LBJ, the outspoken filmmaker & political activist indicated that he’d steer clear of a one-on-one meeting with Trump, even if the invitation came with the opportunity to screen his portrait of America’s 36th president (played by Woody Harrelson) for the 45th inhabitant of the Oval Office.

“I would never go to his White House,” Reiner says emphatically. “Not only do I not agree with him politically, but I find him to be a disagreeable person, and a person with no feelings or empathy for anybody but himself.

Hopefully our country & democracy will survive this presidency, but this is one of the biggest challenges democracy has ever faced — to have someone as DISREPUTABLE as Donald Trump in the White House.”

In the unlikely event that Trump does watch LBJ, which opens in theaters on Nov. 3, Reiner isn’t holding his breath that he’ll learn anything from it.

“He doesn’t seem to want to learn anything; that’s the most upsetting thing. He has no interest in it, because it’s not about him personally. He only cares about his own survival and his own pocketbook.”

Reiner, who was 16 when Johnson took office, admits to not thinking highly of LBJ during his administration, especially as the Vietnam War grew to overshadow his domestic agenda.

It is sobering to contemplate that when Lyndon Johnson was my age, he had been dead for five years.

Anyway, Reiner is the ultimate in Hollywood typecasting. He will always be known & derided as Meathead.

Fitting that the only movie (I checked on IMDB) that I have seen with him in it was “The Jerk”...
also, only a few ‘60s and ‘70s tv series...

This is one movie I won’t be watching.

Hey meathead. No one wants you anywhere near the White House and President Trump.

Reiner called Trump voters racists.

Just like I steer clear of a one-on-one meeting with him or any project he is or may be involved with. Him and his world get none of my hard earned money - ever.

Reiner needs to stay in Hollywood and clean up that cesspool.

I bet 65 cents Reiner would claim he doesn't even understand what I am referencing.

“I would never go to his White House”

Typical Meathead comment. It's no more "Trump's White House" than it was "Obama's White (racist) House" during the eight years of his regime.

Go back to diddling with the boys and turning out Socialist propaganda for the masses.

A movie about LBJ starring Woody Harrelson and directed by Rob Reiner? I would find that disagreeable.

He got a letter from a psychologist who declared him insane. Info from a book about Reiner, authored by Joseph Ferry.

Reiner & his buddies could be accused by women at any moment. They’re dropping like flies in Hollywood.

I don’t know how close a physical resemblance they can achieve with Harrelson, but he is probably the right kind of SOB to portray Johnson.

Yet since the 1980's I had read many accounts of Donald Trump's random acts of kindness. Of providing care flights for sick children, of paying off mortgages, providing his company's assets (free of charge) to solve a problem.

Guess Reiner doesn'doesn't get out much. Such a closed mind. Bet he does not know ANYONE who voted for Trump.

Once a meathead...always in all ways a meathead!
