Well, today was strange. My sister’s fridge died RIGHT AFTER she stocked up on meat. So all the meat thawed and had to be cooked right away. So both my sis and I had to cook cook cook all day long, meat loaf, chicken, ribs, stew, etc, crock pots, ovens going, pots on the stove etc.

And MY favorite thing to make for dinner is RESERVATIONS!

Nat Shilkret died in 1982, at 92. During his life, he generated a lot of good music.

When I was in our high school band, “Hallelujah”—the 1927 version—was a tune we would play at football games.

Wilson Pickett sings lead on this hit. The vocal group is backed by the Ohio Untouchables, who would score a string of hits in the 1970's as the Ohio Players.

Timi Yuro, and “Hurt”. She was so tiny, but what a voice. I also loved her version of “Make the World Go Away”.

One I didn’t see mentioned was Waylon Jennings. He had more hits than just about anyone in any field of music.
