Jilted Never Trumpers Want You To Care They're Losing [Aw gee whiz alert]
Daily Caller ^ | October 25, 2017 | Scott Greer

Jeff Flake no longer wants to be a senator.

On Tuesday, the Republican senator and frequent Donald Trump critic delivered a grandstanding speech on why he decided to throw in the towel on campaigning for another term in office.

"There are times where we must risk our careers in favor of our principles," Flake declared. "Now is such a time."

[Snip]

His speech was typical of his recent commentary on the president - the now-retiring senator even wrote a whole book about how his principled conservative self couldn't stand Trump.

But to several liberal journalists, Flake's speech was one of the greatest in the Senate's history and Americans will remember it for generations.

[Snip]

One of the oddest things about the coverage of Flake's resignation is how the media tried to spin it as a loss for the president. A prominent critic of Trump deciding to leave office does not sound like a loss for POTUS, no matter how many lame barbs Flake lobbed at him during his "defiant" surrender.

[Snip]

Liberals love these kinds of stories because it contributes to their narrative that Trump is destroying the GOP. The conservatives departing love to engage in this behavior because it nets them positive press coverage and strange new respect from their liberal colleagues - a respectable conservative's biggest dream!

But do average Republicans care? The answer seems to be a strong no.

What drives the NeverTrumpers is trying to protect their 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of laws and borders with the goal of changing the demographics of the country.

George H W Bush, instead of implementing the enforcement measures of the 1986 amnesty that were to prevent the need of another, set in motion the illegal alien inundation that now numbers over 30 million.

The illegal alien inundation was intentional.

They invited those people here against our will and they do not want us restoring the rule of law and sending them home.

Trump broke through the Bush blockade of only nominating amnesty candidates that kept us from stopping the Cheap Labor Express.

NeverTrump is really NeverSovereignty.

The purpose of the illegal alien inundation is to dilute American citizens votes so they can institute their new world order.
US and our freedoms stand in their way.

Ah yes, the selfless Flake and his “principles.” Look for him to have lined up a cushy lobbying job in D.C., because he knew he’d lose in next years AZ GOP primary.

How is he risking his career? Wasn’t he polling way behind?

Also, I cringe when an elected official refers to it as his “career.” This should not be considered a lifetime’s meal ticket.

Flake got elected in the first place because he claimed to share the TEA Party ideals.

If ya claim it, ya better be it.

“How courageous, he knows he won’t win, so he says he is quitting on principle..”

18% in the polls will cause you to resign.

Flake, GOPe, Never-Trumpers, etc. = UniParty.
Flake was a subversive UniParty plant coached by UniParty member, McStain...both of em cannot be gone soon enough.

Flake "resigned" because us AZ voters were going to "fire" his ass in the 2018 primary.

He ran as a "conservative" as did McCain.

They both violated their campaign promises and are traitors to AZ.

How about we stop electing these blow-dried, privileged douchebags that have as their primary objective to chow down at the public trough for the rest of their lives?

I’d love to see a few more frumpy gals and schlubby dudes who embody true conservative values and want to help America succeed represent us in Washington.

Our elections are supposed to be based on ideas and not an episode the Bachelor.

Amazing how POTUS DJT haters/detractors/opponents keep stepping up just to get knocked down. Everyone from Bush to Megyn to the NFL to Flake tried to beat down or embarrass POTUS DJT only to find themselves on the losing end. Score: POTUS DJT 100, Trump opponents 0.
