My Analysis of General Kelly’s Remarks
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | October 20, 2017 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: I want to go through the audio sound bites. This happened yesterday. It happened after the program yesterday, the Chief of Staff John Kelly going to the press room in the White House and making his statement in the middle of this controversy over whether or not Trump knows what to say and says the right things when he calls the families of military people killed in action.

This is just… You have to hear this — and if you have already heard it, please indulge me, because I’ve only seen excerpts of it. We got pretty much the gist of it here. The reaction to this, though, on CNN? Folks, this is among the worst… It’s tough to characterize how just downright mean and hateful, in a uniform way, everybody who commented on General Kelly’s remarks yesterday is. Mean-spirited. Hateful. Angry. It’s yet another vivid lesson on how the Democrat Party and the media is colluding to just openly lie about Donald Trump.

Remember, yesterday, we went through the notion. They failed here with Russia… Well, we can’t say they failed, because the Mueller team is still eagerly seeking a crime and these are the kinds of people that can make one up. There will be a crime before these people finished. Even though there isn’t one, there will be one. They will find one or they will create one. They will make one up. But so far nothing on Russia.

So the Democrats have shifted focus and the media have shifted focus and now it’s all on “Trump is unfit.” Back to that! That’s what originally Hillary began with, if you recall, at the beginning of her campaign: “Trump is unfit for this office! He simply is not suited; this man does not have the intelligence, the emotion, the empathy. This man doesn’t have the qualifications.” That was her whole campaign, and it’s interesting.

They’ve circled back to that now, after everything else that they’ve tried to get rid of Trump and ruin his numbers and separate him from his supporters. After all that’s failed, they’re now beginning to recycle what they started with. But the way CNN and others in the Drive-By Media went after General Kelly yesterday, I don’t… I’m convinced like the NFL doesn’t know the hole they’re digging for themselves, these people don’t either, and they never will learn it. They’re too obstinate and stubborn and arrogant.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now before setting up General Kelly, I want to go back, and this is a montage of what the Obama administration told Gold Star families after Benghazi

BARACK OBAMA: (9/25/2012) I don’t care how offensive this video was — and it was terribly offensive and we should shun it.

HILLARY CLINTON: (9/13/2012) This video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose: To denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage.

JAY CARNEY: (9/14/2012) Let’s be clear: These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.

BARACK OBAMA: (9/18/2012) You had a video that was released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character who… is an extremely offensive video.

JAY CARNEY: (9/14/2012) The unrest we’ve seen has been in reaction to a video.

BARACK OBAMA: (9/25/2012) As a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.

SUSAN RICE: (9/16/2012) It was a spontaneous — not a premeditated — response. A direct result of a heinous and offensive video.

BARACK OBAMA: (9/25/2012) I know there are some who ask, “Why we don’t just ban such a video?” and the answer is enshrined in our laws: Our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech.

RUSH: That was a coordinated effort to lie, explaining the death of four Americans in Benghazi on a video — and Susan Rice: “It was a spontaneous not premeditated response.” No, it was a premeditated terrorist attack and the video had nothing to do with it. You want to talk about lying to Gold Star families?

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Also keep in mind, beyond the video lies to the American public, the montage we just played. Susan Rice was on five Sunday morning TV shows in one day lying about the terror attack in Benghazi was spontaneous because of this horrible video. You had Obama. You had Hillary. That was Jay Carney twice in that montage lying. Hillary and Obama produced a TV commercial that ran in Pakistan promoting this lie.

But it was not just them, not just the American people. Hillary and Obama lied to the parents of the men killed in Benghazi right in front of their coffins. Lied to their faces about the reason for their deaths. Totally made it up. Hillary lied to both Pat Smith and Charles Woods. Hillary stared right at this mother who was mourning as her son lay in a casket just feet away at Andrews Air Force Base, Joint Base Andrews in September of 2012.

Mother of Benghazi victim Sean Smith bashes Hillary

Smith later told the Republican National Convention (paraphrasing), “When I saw Hillary Clinton at Sean’s coffin ceremony just days later, she looked at me square in the eye and told me a video was responsible.” Charles Woods, another father, wrote in his journal that same day: I gave Hillary a hug and shook her hand and she said we’re going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of his son.

So with that as background, we now transition to the latest effort to demean, impugn and lie about Donald Trump, claiming he’s unfit, claiming he’s too coarse, he’s too big a pig, he doesn’t know how to have empathy. He doesn’t have sympathy. He doesn’t care for these people. He doesn’t know what to say because he doesn’t care that people died for the country. So he calls these families up and he insults them.

And this is what they’re lying about. These same people and the media hordes that supported them. It got so out of control that the chief of staff, General John Kelly, went to the press room and spoke about this controversy surrounding Trump’s call to the widow of a soldier killed in action, and what happens in this situation. And we have a number of sound bites from General Kelly and here we go, this is the first.

KELLY: Most Americans don’t know what happens when we lose one of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, or Coast Guardsmen in combat. So let me tell you what happens. Their buddies wrap them in whatever passes as a shroud, puts them on a helicopter as a routine and sends them home. Their first stop along the way is when they’re packed in ice, typically at the airhead, and then they’re flown to usually Europe, where they’re then packed in ice again and flown to Dover Air Force Base where Dover takes care of the remains, embalms them and meticulously dresses them in the uniform with the medals that they’ve earned, the emblems of their service. And then puts them on another airplane linked up with a casualty officer escort that takes them home.

RUSH: Now, it may be brutal to some to listen to this. But you know it strikes me that we have an adult on Trump’s staff here who is willing to take the time to explain to people what actually happens here, rather than just react with raw emotion, rooted in raw emotion, hatred and disgust for Trump. There’s no curiosity. The very people claiming Trump has no empathy, the very people claiming that Trump doesn’t care, the very people claiming that Trump is a broodish predator pig haven’t a slightest idea what they are talking about. And they haven’t the slightest bit of curiosity to learn what they’re talking about. General Kelly continued.

KELLY: Hours after my son was killed, his friends were calling us from Afghanistan telling us what a great guy he was. Those are the only phone calls that really matter. If you elect to call a family like this, it is about the most difficult thing you could imagine. There’s no perfect way to make that phone call. When I took this job and talked to President Trump about how to do it, my first recommendation was he not do it, because it’s not the phone call that parents, family members are looking forward to. It’s a nice to-do in my opinion, in any event. He asked me about previous presidents. And I said I can tell you that President Obama, who was my Commander in Chief when I was on active duty, did not call my family.

Gen. Kelly speaks at White House (full remarks)

RUSH: There you go. Now, I don’t know what you’ve heard about this, but when this kerfuffle began and Trump was being hit from all sides, as always, he brought in General Kelly and he mentioned that very point. That Obama didn’t take the time to call General Kelly or his family. Then we got stories about how Kelly was outraged and shamed and sorry that Trump had chosen to politicize the death of his son.

Well, I guess that wasn’t true either, because here’s Kelly setting the record straight. Obama didn’t call him. The Drive-Bys and everybody involved wanted to make it look like Trump had lied because that’s what they always try to make it look like. So they sit there shocked and devastated by what they’ve heard. But they get over it pretty quickly, because none of this is going to shape in any way their take on this event. Hearing the truth, hearing the details, does not deter the forces arrayed against Donald Trump on this. Another salient point in that bite is General Kelly also confirming that he told President Trump not to do it, it’s a tough call. It’s difficult to know what to say.

We have people whose job it is to inform the parents. Do you know what that policy is, by the way? You’ve seen it. You’ve seen it portrayed in movies, where a mother or father or family is happily engaged and getting ready for the day and there’s a knock on the door. The mother or father answers the door and it’s two uniformed military personnel.

It’s known, of course, that the family has a son or a daughter fighting overseas. And the sight of the two uniformed military personnel is all they need to know. The only time they show up is when your son or daughter has died. What actually happens in that circumstance is pretty close, the way it’s portrayed.

The one thing I didn’t know is that the policy is for the uniformed military personnel who are going to convey the information to the family show up before dawn, and they park outside the home and they wait until very first light, before people may even be up. And at first light, they approach the front door and knock on it.

And the theory being that this needs to be the first thing the family hears in their day. As opposed to at 10:00 when people are gone, the whole family is not there. As opposed to later that night, it’s best to do this at the beginning of the day. And there is a studied policy for this based on learned experience with all this. And General Kelly told Trump don’t do it, it’s a difficult thing to do. They’re not expecting to hear from you, so don’t do it. Trump told Kelly he wanted to do it, and did it. And here’s Kelly explaining that.

KELLY: I think he very bravely does make those calls. So he called four people the other day and expressed his condolences in the best way that he could. And he said to me: “What do I say?” I said to him, “Sir, there’s nothing you can do to lighten the burden on these families. But let me tell you what I tell them. Let me tell you what my best friend, Joe Dunford, told me, because he was my casualty officer. He said: ‘Kel, he was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed. He knew what he was getting into by joining that one percent. He knew what the possibilities were because we’re at war. And when he died –‘” and the four cases we’re talking about, Niger, my son’s case in Afghanistan, “‘– when he died, he was surrounded by the best men on this earth, his friends.'” That’s what the president tried to say to four families the other day.

RUSH: Okay. So there’s Kelly explaining what he told Trump that he says. He said that Trump asked him what to say. Well, you know when I first heard, by the way, when this really whacko Democrat Congresswoman from down here in Florida — I mean, she’s a piece of work. She’s out there claiming, “My kids are going to recognize me as a rock star.” She thinks she’s really popular now because the White House is talking about her.

I wonder how the family that she was driving around with and listening to this phone call, I wonder what the family now thinks of this congresswoman whose running around like she’s been made a big star out of this, as though this whole event was nothing more than something she could use to elevate her political standing. I mean, talk about sick. It’s always on the exact opposite side of things that the Drive-Bys tell us about.

Anyway, when I heard Trump say — I heard it reported that Trump told the family — that, “This is what he signed up for,” I was not offended. It didn’t bother me at all. My reaction was, “Why is everybody blowing a gasket over that?” “Well, Mr. Limbaugh, that is very insensitive. ‘This is what he signed up for’?” None of… That’s not what that means, and everybody with just a shred of rationality knows. Now everybody knows that simply Trump used in his own words what General Kelly had told him he says.

He said, “He was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed.” Trump had his own way of verbalizing that. But the fact that they harped on this, and lying about the fact that Trump didn’t even call somebody and then promised to send somebody $25,000 and Trump didn’t send the money — when he did send the money. The check was sent. (sigh) It just… Every day, every day these people are on the assault.

And here’s General Kelly, who perhaps has more moral authority on this subject than anybody in that administration, and they’re now trying to castigate and ruin him over this by claiming he’s taking one for the team, that he doesn’t really believe all this stupid stuff he’s saying. He’s just out there protecting his boss. That’s what they said at CNN yesterday. We have a couple more here from General Kelly. I want you to hear them.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Just a couple more here from General Kelly, and I just checked the phone call roster. We’ve got some excellent calls based on the subjects they want to discuss coming up. So if you’re on hold, I beg you: Stay there. We’ll get to you quickly. Here’s just two more. Here’s the next. These next two bites from General Kelly are especially hard-hitting.

KELLY: I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning — and brokenhearted — at what I saw a member of Congress doing. A member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the president of the United States to a young wife, and in his way tried to express that opinion that he’s a brave man, a fallen hero. He knew what he was getting himself into, because he enlisted. There’s no reason to enlist. He enlisted, and he was where he wanted to be — exactly where he wanted to be — with exactly the people he wanted to be with when his life was taken. That was the message.

It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. It absolutely stuns me. I thought at least that was sacred. You know, when I was a kid growing up, a lot of things were sacred in our country. Women were sacred and looked upon with great honor. That’s obviously not the case anymore, as we see from recent cases. Life? The dignity of life was sacred. That’s gone. Religion? That seems to be gone as well. Gold Star families? I think that left in the convention over the summer. I just thought the selfless devotion that brings a man or woman to die on the battlefield… I just thought that that might be sacred.

RUSH: Wow. That is absolutely bull’s-eye. That is right on the money, everything he said there. “Women were sacred and looked upon with great honor.” Not the case anymore. Religion? Dignity of life? Gold Star families? He’s talking about the Democrat convention. He’s talking about how the Democrats have politicized everything here. Now, the media… You have to understand, the media thought General Kelly… I keep wanting to call him “John,” and I catch myself. He’s General Kelly.

They’ve been thinking all this time that he’s on their side, that he knows Trump is an absolute bozo, that Trump’s an out-of-control idiot and he’s here to keep this White House on the straight and narrow. Now they’re finding he’s out there defending Trump and he’s sounding like Trump. He’s saying the same things as Trump! And they’re livid at General Kelly because they feel betrayed. They think Kelly and Mattis and Tillerson are in there to undermine Trump, and that’s not what’s happening here, and so they just took out after him. Here’s the next one. This is even better.

KELLY: I went to the dedication of the new FBI field office in Miami, and it was dedicated to two men who were killed in a firefight in Miami against drug traffickers. There were family members there. Some of the children that were there were only 3 or 4 years old when their dads were killed on that street in Miami-Dade. Three of the men that survived the fight were there and gave a rendition of how brave those men were and how they gave their lives. And a congresswoman stood up, and — in a long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise — stood up there in all of that, and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building, and how she took care of her constituents because she got the money.

And she just called up President Obama, and on that phone call, he gave the money — the $20 million — to build the building. And she sat down. And we were stunned, stunned that she’d done it. Even for someone that is that empty a barrel, we were stunned. I still hope, as you write your stories — and I appeal to America — that let’s not let this maybe last thing that is held sacred in our society: A young man, a young woman going out and giving his or her life for our country. Let’s try to somehow keep that sacred. But it eroded a great deal yesterday by the selfish behavior of a member of Congress.

Rep. Frederica Wilson Call John Kelly's 'Empty Barrel' Comment Racist

RUSH: He’s talking about Frederica Wilson, the sequined cowboy hat-wearing Frederica Wilson. She is the one who hijacked the memorial at the FBI building to brag about the fact that she got the money to build the building by calling Obama, and then sat back down, and she got the money for her constituents and so forth. And he’s calling her an empty barrel. He didn’t mention her by name. That’s who she is, and he’s right on the money. But, you know, another point that he made, folks, revolves around this whole thing: “It’s what they signed up for.”

It’s what makes these people special. He’s exactly right. One percent. They volunteer for this. That’s what separates them from all of us. They volunteer for it, and they know full well when they volunteer what’s going to happen at this point in our nation’s history. They know that wars are being fought all over the world. They know they’re going to combat when they sign up. That’s the whole point here. That’s why they are honored and revered, and the left and this congresswoman? Nobody can get their arms around it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: General Kelly began his explanation yesterday to the media by saying, “I doubt there are too many of you in this room that actually know anybody in the military,” and that’s probably right on the money as well.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Predictably, stupidly — and in terms of being a walking cliche — Frederica Wilson, the sequined cowboy hat-wearing congresswoman from Florida, has now accused General Kelly of being a racist for daring to criticize her and her behavior at the dedication at the FBI building at Miami-Dade. She said: “He can’t do racism on me,” or some such thing. “Stop telling lies on me.”

She said, “You can’t be racist. Stop telling lies on me.” Folks, it’s exactly what I told you yesterday. I went through this. They are imploding on that side of the aisle. You just don’t see it characterized that way because the media is defending these people and promoting them. But in the eyes of the people that make this country work, it’s the left, it’s the Democrats, all of these people — the media. They are imploding, becoming unhinged and hysterical.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now back to General Kelly because there’s some aftermath to this. But I want to play one sound bite because of the second half of this.

KELLY: I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning and brokenhearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing. A member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the President of the United States to a young wife. And in his way tried to express that opinion, that he’s a brave man, a fallen hero. He knew what he was getting himself into, because he enlisted. There’s no reason to enlist. He enlisted, and he was where he wanted to be, exactly where he wanted to be, with exactly the people he wanted to be with when his life was taken. That was the message.

It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. Absolutely stuns me. And I thought at least that was sacred. When I was a kid growing up a lot of things were sacred in our country. Women were sacred, looked upon with great honor. That’s obviously not the case anymore, as we see from recent cases. Life, the dignity of life was sacred. That’s gone. Religion. That seems to be gone as well. Gold Star families, I think that left in the convention over the summer. I just thought the selfless devotion that brings a man or woman to die on the battlefield, I just thought that that might be sacred.

RUSH: Now, I happen to know exactly what he’s talking about and what he means here. And he’s essentially detailing all of these formerly — he refers to them as sacred. I think they’re just time-honored American values and how they have been corrupted and how it disappoints him. But the last domino to fall is he thought that American men and women who volunteer, who are one of the one percent who volunteered, and they volunteer in this timeframe, they know exactly where they’re going to end up, more often than not they’re going to end up on a battlefield, end up in combat, and they still do it.

And their sacrifice, he’s always believed is sacred. Now even that’s being politicized. Gold Star families are being politicized. Everything is being corrupted in the process. He’s right on the money on this. He himself is a Gold Star father. Father of two Marines, United States Marine Corps General, Commander United States Southern Command, General of the Multinational Force West in Iraq, Commander Marine Forces Reserved and Marine Forces North, Commander of the U.S. Southern Command, Secretary of Homeland Security, White House Chief of Staff. Two Meritorious Service awards.

Now, the choice for me, that guy or a loud, obnoxious, attention-seeking, race-baiting, leftist congresswoman in a rhinestone covered cowboy hat? The left is beside itself. They’re not used to this. Republicans don’t fight back. And remember now, this is crucial for you to keep this in perspective. The left thinks that General Kelly is on their side, or was. To them, General Kelly is in the establishment. He’s right there with General Mattis. He’s right up there with Patraeus. He’s right there with Tillerson.

These guys are guarding against Trump losing his mind. These are the guys that are making sure Trump doesn’t go insane. These are the guys making sure Trump’s orders are not implemented. For this guy to come out and say the things he said yesterday, they are seething with rage. They think they’ve been buffaloed and fooled. They thought Kelly was one of them. They thought Kelly was sympathetic to their complaints about Trump. And here comes Kelly not only defending Trump but defending everything that Trump stands for and especially defining why Trump won.

So we have this headline at NewsBusters: “‘Nitwit’ John Kelly Is an ‘Odious’ ‘Coward’ Making ‘Bizarre,’ ‘Dishonest,’ Racist Remarks.” That’s a headline describing how CNN dealt with General Kelly yesterday. “CNN political commentator Symone Sanders played the race card, insinuating racism in Kelly’s discussion about fallen service members and response to Democratic congresswoman Frederica Wilson.”

See? You can’t criticize a Democrat member of Congress who happens to be black. If you do, you are a racist, just like you couldn’t criticize President Obama’s policies. That makes you racist. So this CNN commentator, Symone Sanders, said, “‘They found a way to make this about a black woman doing something wrong??? Miss me with this ass backwards attempt to vindicate Trump.’ [sic] CNN national security correspondent and former Obama administration official Jim Sciutto also displayed his displeasure with Kelly, tweeting:

“‘With due respect, on what basis do Gens Kelly & Mattis criticize the media for asking how & why 4 U.S. soldiers were killed in action?'” [sic] That’s not what you guys were doing! You were asserting that Trump doesn’t care about it. You were trying to make political hay out of the fact that Trump doesn’t care, that Trump doesn’t have empathy, that Trump doesn’t call any of these people — and when he does, he makes a fool of himself. I didn’t hear Kelly criticize the media for asking about the soldiers killed in action.

I also missed the part where CNN showed any interest in why four Americans were killed in Benghazi. They seem to not be able to get Niger out of their heads, but when it came to Benghazi? “Eh, it was that video,” and they tried to forget it. A writer for GQ, Devin Gordon, was outraged that anyone would criticize the media, particularly General Kelly, and then we have… Grab sound bite No. 10. This is Frederica Wilson, the empty barrel that he referred to yesterday, in Miami on WSVN TV…

WILSON: You mean to tell me that I have become so important (laughing) that the White House is following me ‘n’ my words? This is amazing! It’s amazing. That is absolutely phenomenal. I have to tell my kids that I’m a rock star now.

Frederica Wilson laughs that she's now a 'rock star' because of feud with Trump

RUSH: This morning… And they loved her so much after that they went out at CNN. They had her on their show this morning with Alisyn Camerota who said, “I think his point was that empty barrels make the most noise, congresswoman.”

WILSON: That’s a racist term, too! I’m thinking about that one. Uh, we looked it up in the dictionary because I had never heard of an empty barrel.

RUSH: Right, so it had to be racist. It just had to be. Finally, this last one. Again, CNN…

WILSON: (haltingly) She was distraught that he kept saying: “My guy…” “Your guy.” Not “your husband.” “Your guy.” She said he didn’t even know La David’s name. So that was the most painful part. The only reason I came on this morning was to say that I do not appreciate someone lying on me. (sic) If you lie on me, I’m going to answer, ’cause I’m not going to let you get away with it.

RUSH: I didn’t know Kelly went down and laid on her out there. I didn’t see that!

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The White House has released… Is it the White House or was it the…? I’m not sure who is releasing it. No, it’s the widow of an Army staff sergeant has released a recording of the call the president made to her to offer condolences for the loss of her husband who was serving in Afghanistan. Natasha De Alencar, the widow of Army staff sergeant Mark De Alencar, released a video recording made on April 12th this year when President Trump called her to offer condolences.

Now, this call, by the way, has been mischaracterized in the media as Trump was flippant and didn’t seem sincere. And, folks, they’re just making all of this stuff up. They literally are just lying about all this. (stammers) I’m still incredulous about it all. They just continue lying, and so the release of the audio… She’s African-American, and you’ll hear Trump couldn’t be nicer. The woman appreciates it. This phone call with the woman, the Wilson family, that the congresswoman was in the car listening to? This whole thing now is beginning to sound like a typical left-wing project or a setup.

Here’s the audio of the call that Trump made to this widow back in April…

THE PRESIDENT: I’m so sorry to hear about the whole situation. What a horrible thing, except that he’s an unbelievable hero. And you know all of the people that served with him are saying how incredible he was.

DE ALENCAR: Yes, sir.

THE PRESIDENT: And he just was an amazing, amazing guy. He’s a great hero.

DE ALENCAR: Thank you, President Trump. Those words are very kind. He was an amazing man, an amazing husband, and an amazing soldier, and I couldn’t be more proud of my husband.

RUSH: That’s what we have. But the president continued to talk to her and told her that he wanted to meet her, that when she’s in Washington, to come by the White House, that he would like to host her in the Oval Office. It was perfectly fine. It was empathetic. It was sensitive. And they’re out there telling stories, “This guy’s a buffoon! He doesn’t know how to act on these kind of calls, doesn’t have any empathy, doesn’t really care,” and it’s all rooted, folks…

All of this is now rooted in the latest effort to get rid of Trump and that is he’s unfit for office, which is the first thing they started with Hillary Clinton after she lost. Actually, it was part of her campaign. They tried with this Russia-collusion business. Oh! Have you heard the latest about this? The current CIA director, Mike Pompeo, went out there and said that whatever Russian collusion or Russian involvement was, there was no effect on the outcome of the election — and the media has gone berserk! The media was livid.

Wolf Blitzer at CNN was livid. Somebody at the CIA put out a statement correcting Pompeo. So CNN went out and got James Woolsey, who is a former CIA director, and they’re pounding this guy. “What do you make of the CIA retracting the statement made by the director?” Woolsey said, “Well, that’s not what happened here. All the director said was that whatever the Russians did, it didn’t affect the outcome of the election,” and Wolf Blitzer is just in paralyzed, stunned silence because they thought they had Pompeo now.

Pompeo goes out and says (summarized), “Whatever their involvement was, if any, it didn’t affect the outcome of the election,” and this they’ve been living with. They’ve been trying to create this idea that Trump stole the election with the Russians, and these idiots… From Wolf Blitzer on down, every one of these idiots — these braindead idiots in the media — I guess, have talked themselves into it being true. They really believe it! I think they’ve been so absorbed in this for so long that they really believe it.

So now the existing CIA director, current CIA director says it didn’t affect the outcome of the election. And somebody at the CIA, an Obama embed, has to put out a statement “correcting” Pompeo. So Woolsey goes out and says, “No, they didn’t correct anything Pompeo said.” All Pompeo said was whatever Russia did didn’t affect the outcome — and it didn’t! But these people, the lunatics are so invested in this lie that they thought they had evidence, finally, that the CIA knew.

And the Trump CIA director was being embarrassed and corrected for it. Anyway, now they’re back on Trump is unfit. Now Trump is unempathetic. Now Trump is a barbarian. He doesn’t know how to behave in this office. They’ve just got nothing, and they’ve talked themselves into these things. So the widow releases this phone call that disproves every allegation they’re trying to make about Trump.

I want to wait until Mattis meets with McCain today and see how that comes out tomorrow. If McCain hates Trump that much, he could try to turn this into another Benghazi.

Sounds like Rush really let loose.

His replay of what the Obama said after Benghazi was great.

Even though there isn’t one, there will be one. They will find one or they will create one. They will make one up. But so far nothing on Russia.
