Five reasons Trump's widow story stings(barf alert)

Welcome to day three of the Donald Trump condolence-call story.

It started badly, with the president questioning the way his predecessors dealt with the families of war dead. It's only got worse, as the story has morphed into one of an allegedly callous presidential call to a grieving widow of a US soldier killed in Niger.

Here are five reasons why this snowballing story is so damaging to the president.

It cuts against a strength

Mr Trump campaigned on being a defender of the US military and, in particular, US veterans. Time and again he said those in the armed services weren't being treated well and railed against ongoing evidence of bureaucratic bungling in the veterans' health system. As a candidate and as president, he has boasted of how much the military loves him and regularly surrounded himself with soldiers and martial symbolism - a way of burnishing his credentials as a strong commander-in-chief. He appointed ex-generals to his administration and lined his redecorated Oval Office with flags. Now he has to deal with accusations that he is dishonouring the memory of service member who died on his watch. Questions are already swirling about why these soldiers were put in harm's way and whether enough was done to ensure their safety.

Reporters are digging into other contacts Mr Trump has had with the families of slain soldiers. The Washington Post reports that of 13 it reached, seven had been contacted by the president. One father said Mr Trump had promised him a personal check for $25,000 (£18,900) but hadn't delivered. Four others had heard nothing and were angry. The next time the president surrounds himself with soldiers, the public might be reminded of this - and become angry, too.

It re-enforces a weakness

An important job of a modern US president is

The only people who buy into this are those who already hate the president.

But it just strengthens the resolve of regular people who are fed up with the leftists, the fake news, the Washington DC Swamp and the damage they are doing to America.

please...

This only damages the panting pearl-clutching “journalists” who think this amounts to anything, and that idiot sequined-cowboy-hat-wearing-Maxine-Waters wannabe congresscritter. Throw in Sheila Jackson Lee for the trifecta of stupid.

The BBC. Enough said. You’d think with their stupid and corrupt government, they wouldn’t have time to be obsessed with Trump.

you can be sure the media will keep it going as long as they can, until something better comes along for them to obsess on.

While the WH has said there were no recordings of the conversation, I bet there were. Just not authorized recordings. The NSA, FBI, CIA, etc., have long ago surpassed the intrusiveness seen in the comedy movie “The President’s Analyst” (1967), and become bizarre as far as their surveillance goes.

“Five reasons Trump’s widow story stings Democrats”

1 It is impossible to believe so it is just another failed attack by Democrats.
2 It is a charge made against a man known for his love and support for the military who is careful with what he says to the military.
3 It comes from a known Trump hater with a record of hostility toward the military
4 It is a fresh opportunity to embarrass the Democrats on their total lack of support for the military.
5 It reminds America that Democrats will lie about anything to attack President Trump.

The whole thing STINKS, not STINGS.

Why would Trump bother to even call a widow only to insult the memory of her husband?

He would actually waste his time doing that?

Makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE.

Yes, and even some on the left can see and feel the vileness in this kind of fake news. These kinds of ruthless attacks are seething with irrational viciousness and hatred and most people are very uncomfortable with that.
