I think the House is doing much better then the Senate. Thank God for Gerrymandering as there is no way that 2016 is another 2006. Democrats need to many seats to win out and out majority in the House.....And the Senate? They need to hope to keep the number they have now.

If there are feuds and lack of achievements, it is simply because House republicans have failed to do as the people have directed and suffered the consequence. Considering how happy most of those idiots would be about impeachment and watching the Trump Train roll on out of town, this would seem to be a goal of theirs...

How about not warning anymore and actually doing their dang jobs? Let’s start by repealing Obamacare, tossing out the Iranian deal, rolling back regulations...

Everyday, CNN becomes more and more like MSNBC in running their fantasies as news stories.

Were the Republicans to lose the House in 2018, the biggest problem would be the House going totally obstructionist against Trump. President Trump would counter by going full-Ronald Reagan and going over their head directly to the American people.

Somehow I don’t think that meets the Constitutional definition of “High crimes and misdemeanors”.

"High crimes and misdemeanors" is whatever the house and senate decides it is. There is no judicial review. They could impeach Trump for failing to look both ways before crossing the street, or using the wrong fork for his salad. The only redress is through the political process. And it is the fear of the political ramifications that is the only thing that has stayed their hand.

If there was an anonymous vote for impeachment, and one which had there was no need to be re-elected, Trump would be hardpressed to get 20 votes in the house, let alone the senate. They are not looking for "high crimes and misdemeanors -- they are looking for political cover. Right now, thankfully, the political cover would need to be significant for what, essentially, would be a coup (constitutionally, they would be following the letter, but clearly they would be violating the intent). This is because marginal voters do not appear to be going along with the anti-Trump mania. That political cover does not appear to be anywhere in sight, and so they will remain well short of what they need. But if you think, for one second, that Republicans like Flake, McConnell, Graham, Alexander, and pretty much the entire senate, would not vote for removal, if they had sufficient political cover, then you are kidding yourself.
