Washington (AFP) - Brick by brick, the demolition job has begun: since taking office less than a year ago, Donald Trump has launched an all-out assault on the legacy of Barack Obama.
Climate, free trade, health care, immigration, foreign policy -- the 45th US president has set about undoing just about everything done by the 44th.
All new presidents, of course, break with their predecessor once in the Oval Office, especially if they come from a rival political party.
But what is striking is how systematic the hammer blows to Obama's legacy have been.
And rather than throw his weight behind new policies or projects, Trump has shown a willful desire to unpick, shred and erase everything his predecessor accomplished.
It's worth noting that each time he buries one of the reforms of the man who sat before him at the "Resolute desk," Trump sounds more like a candidate than a president.

Zero’s rotten judges and 10 extra trillion in debt is going to be much harder to erase. That is Zero’s true legacy.
If only so done would start dealing with the lawlessness of the 32nd!
We need a dozen or so new conservative representatives in the House as well as more conservative American Republican patriots (and fewer globalist RINOs) in the US Senate. That will hopefully come in 2018.
Meanwhile, we need to pressure McConnell to substantially speed up the voting/confirmation processes for President Trumps judicial nominees. The Senate has only approved 7 of his judicial nominees so far.
Obama chose to implement his policies in quick and dirty ways, stroke of a pen rather than legislation grounded in the constitution, open debates and persuasion. Now hes learning the truism Easy come, easy go.
I will never grow tired of the taste of Liberal tears.
We elected him for just that job.
Yes, and from the looks of things, let’s add nuclear proliferation.
This article brought a tear to my eye...Thanks AP! Keep up the good work, and oh, by the way, you better put some ice on that.
It’s get even time for our president.
I seem to remember Obumbles roasting
Trump (over the birth certificate)
during a dinner gala. You could tell,
right then, that Trump had a goal in
mind.
How many Obama plants are still embedded in the govt bureaucracy and doing their master’s Obama evil deeds?
I think that project is ultimately hopeless. We can elect a House of entirely Tea Party stalwarts and within 24 hours almost all of them will be Bought Republicans. They are politicians to begin with and the rewards for turning of the coats are too high and the troubles that face one who sticks to the principles that got him elected are too onerous. There is no help for the Republic in Congress short of an Article 5 set of Amendments that would have to be ratified by 38 States. The 17th has to go and with it the 16th and the 19th. Then there has to be a national dedication to eliminating the Agencies, all of them down to the original four Departments. With all that then we can dream of restoring the Republic. What are the chances of that? Without it we have to elect a series of Trumps and the next nonTrump we get will undo it all.
Never-Trump “republicans” and anti-Trump democrats/socialists keep criticizing President Trump for having few legislative accomplishments. They miss the point. Trump was not elected to pass more legislation and expand our already bloated and out of control federal government. He was elected to erase Obama and roll back government - and he is succeeding in both areas. Thank God!
But what is striking is how systematic the hammer blows to Obama’s legacy have been
funny they think he had a legacy!
I stepped in obungholes legacy once...... had to throw out my shoes.
One of Obama’s most memorable “legacies” is letting his young daughter go to work for lecherous Harvey weinstein.
Of course, the good (cough) parents “did not know” of Harvey’s long long long history of debauchery involving young girls.
