NBC have its license “temporarily” suspended while they are being investigated.
Should take about as long as the Russian investigation.
The only caveat I would have is that something like that starts skating awfully close to the edge of interfering with freedom of the press. For that reason, I think regulation is the wrong approach. Anything that hides under a rock shouldn’t be forced to stay underneath that rock. Instead, it should be dragged out into the light of day, kicking and screaming, for all the world to stare at, and to mock.
Suspending a license because you disagree with the content sounds more like something a liberal university would do.
TV networks don’t have FCC licenses as they aren’t the ones broadcasting. Those belong to individual affiliate stations.
