“Professional gamblers” don’t play video poker, those machines have a set payout that is in the house’s favor. While you might walkway a winner after a short sitting, the longer you play the more your garanteed to lose.
We even have trees called Mesquite. Cook a mean brisket over those branches.
But how did the ‘real’ killers escape under that theory?
From the moment the security guard was shot in the leg, no doubt the police had eyes on the door to his room from down the far end of the corridor while they were deciding when to send SWAT in.
And even if not, they had all the elevators turned off and all the stairwells covered by police.
Speaking of health issues...does anyone know what the blue tube with white tip could be? It resembles a breathing apparatus like a cpap or spirometer. It can be seen in two photos behind the chairs which are pushed together.
While I am not a fan of video poker, those machines in Vegas use a one deck per hand rule. The odds then are similar to odds in live poker. They guy was a gambler. Nothing sinister in that. It is how he spent his time and perhaps enjoyed an income. There are wins and losses but the report of financial transactions are a real nothing burger here for someone (a whale) who gambles consistently. It is not suspicious activity but routine forms. While the whole thing stinks this report does no service to reaching any conclusions about the motive of the killer.
There are people that can do it, but they typically have to count cards, which is considered cheating and illegal. Casinos will pull the players club rights on those that consistently win, because they can properly deduce they are counting cards, and costing the casino money. Casinos will even hire undercover people to harass the winners, until the winners retaliate in some way, then threaten to sue to the winner until he leaves, etc. So they have to move around.
Got a feeling something big is gonna break on this. Probably this weekend.
He owned two airplanes and “entertained people on his boat”?
He sure moved around a lot to be a big money real estate salesman.
Agree, but reportedly Paddock only played "high stakes" video poker/games. That's how he met his Philippine girlfriend in Reno. And this guy averaged five +/- $10K transactions a week reported to the IRS for three years?
Isn’t video poker basically the same of slots? I’m not a gambler but video poker is in local dive bars.
Double odds, 5 to 1 odds and 10 to 1 odds are one of the best bets in house. To get odds close to neutral overall, playing the pass and dont pass simultaneously are safest. Did it once in Vegas. Had the table all to myself. Very difficult to do mentally though. Especially if you play odds and hedge bets. Think it was called the Patrick system.
One theory is that the blue tube connects to a can of refrigerant that he sprayed on the window glass to freeze it before he struck it with the hammer
If only he had slipped in some Russian currency.
Gun runner for the CIA. A hotel is an odd place to do that, but the perfect place to use as cover for guest visitations. If he was a CIA operative, we’ll NEVER learn the truth. It would be like the Secret Service admitting one of their agents armed with an AR-15 accidentally shot Kennedy.
I don’t think it is about the rents.
It’s about laundering funds obtained illicitly through a series of transactions that lead to the purchase of real estate.
The real estate can then be sold on the open market, or held as an investment. Once the original funds have been converted to real estate, they are clean.
There’s a 2nd video interview with the brother, Eric, at LiveLeak that I viewed today.
1) After all the articles about Paddock being into poker and some mentions of video poker, in the 33 minute video, Eric does mention “slots” specifically. I remember because it was the first time and I had gambling addicts (poker and video poker, rarely slots) in the family who lived in Vegas. You do not make millions off slots and video poker is the crack cocaine of gambling, from what I’ve observed. Yet, Eric painted Stephen as calculating and someone who was a professional. Pros may dabble in slots if there’s a rumor of loose ones, but they aren’t *into* slots.
2) Eric (who has diarrhea of the mouth)went on about what a nice guy Stephen was. He fixed up rundown properties and threw in cheap rent out of the kindness of his heart, to keep *good tenants* in his properties.
I know people who became wealthy off of slumlord-type rentals. Not out of nowhere. They took an over $1M IRA in 2008 and bought up every POS rental in a certain area. They did all the renovation themselves,on the cheap, hired family and then rented to anyone with the cash. Anyone. It got so bad, the property manager could no longer deal with the *types* and quit.In every other aspect of life, the owners are wonderful, conservative folks. In their business, they looked away a lot and are not in the least apologetic. So, the comment stuck with me.
Taken together, these comments by the brother, which came after a 1st interview where he “barely knew” his brother, raised my flags. Now add in a series of government jobs. Government jobs aren’t all that easy to get. This guy worked for USPS and IRS. NO military service mentioned, so far (extra points for Federal employment). NO disability for extra points. Dem connections always help government job acquisition. 2 planes. Many trips overseas. Now this financial transaction situation.
I’m leaning toward operative, either Donk Party or Intel. He may have sold guns, ferried cash or whatever, but he did it for someone else, for a cut or as a cover. Maybe had salesman’s samples he displayed in his suites in Vegas. Maybe laundered. Maybe transported $$$$$. Someone else delivered and collected whatever contraband. A trusted employee until he wasn’t. Or until told to do...whatever.
Rumors all over the net about this being a false flag aimed at increasing TSA-type security in large public venues. Just like after 9/11. Wynn(? IIRC) puts in metal detectors immediately. Adelson meets with Trump, immediately. And, I hate to mention it, but Trump Family owns casinos, so Donald is not naive. Wynn and Adelson are Trump supporters, is that correct?
This is starting to stink.
Cui bono?
That's the weakest part of my theory, but ... the shooting only lasted 11-13 minutes. The 72-minute timeline isn't clear exactly when the hotel security guard arrived and was shot "down the hallway". Police/SWAT arrived later. There was confusion which floor the shooter was on. Chaos. Paddock was already dead before the shooting started, the security guard was nursing his wound, the shooters left immediately after the shooting stopped, and he/they made it down the elevators before they were were shut off and the stairways secured, and the shooter(s) are already back in Pakistan.
He might have been cheating some of these casinos too. If he won a lot they were watching him closely. So he probably did not win a lot gambling. Maybe an occasional jackpot due to just playing a lot.
Me neither.
