I don’t mind reading theories — even wild speculation — about the motivations behind incidents like this. But it seems kind of pointless to present these “theories” when the perp’s motivation is probably already known to investigators. They just haven’t made it public yet. We can get back to the theories about this again after the FBI makes something public that is so full of holes that it can’t possibly be true.

It isn’t difficult.
1. Shooter wanted to kill whites.
2. Shooter wanted to kill republicans.
3. Shooter wanted to kill Trump supporters.

...but a gun with a stand that was pictured over the left leg seems odd... I only looked at the pic for a split second - too graphic for me. But others have said it would be awfully difficult for a 64-year old man to accurately fire those weapons at the rate heard in the videos. I know nothing about guns. My theory is that Paddock wasn't the shooter. He was an unwitting victim. Just a theory...

The report I heard this morning was that Paddock waited until she left the country before carrying out this massacre because he was afraid she’d learn about his plan and report him to the police.

Considering the father was a bank robber on the FBI top 10 wanted list, there is most likely family dysfunction.
One other thing that came to me is what appears to be a sudden change in the killers personality. I wonder if he was on the atypical anti-psychotic medication Abilify? The reason I say this is the behavior changes including excessive gambling. Keep in mind, he was going through a divorce.
Also, read the eyes of his girlfriend and look at the wimpy personality of her ex-boyfriend. She wore the pants in her relationships. If she is a die hard liberal, she influenced Paddock.
Right now my intuition says that there was a perfect storm in Paddock’s life.... underlying childhood psychological issues, divorce, possible medications, gambling, dominant girlfriend,........... He was going through a mid-life crisis.
Psychologically, Trump syndrome is a mid-life crisis where the individual feels like they are losing control and not getting their way. It is the ego throwing an irrational hissy fit or temper tantrum in response.
After 8 years of Clinton, 8 years of Bush and 8 years of Obama, people are wimped out. Add to that the increase in medications, especially for children which decrease their ability to work through difficult situations.... All these medications block a childs psychological stage development necessary to be stable later in life.
That’s my take on Paddock’s motivation... He was going through a mid-life crisis, possibly on medication, and his ego was acting out of the fear of losing control so he did this final act of “I’ll show them!”

Admittedly, I don't know anything more at the moment. However, I'm shocked (though not particularly surprised) that no one--namely, no "conservative" commentator--has so much as suggested even the possibility that this historically unprecedented massacre just may be the event in which the violent hatred to which suspected Deplorables have been routinely subjected for over a year-and-a-half has reached its bloody climax. But it's on everyone's minds.

The long guns were outfitted with ‘bump fire’ stocks, according to the police. That is a device that simulates automatic fire in a semi-auto weapon. It allows the shooter to just pull the trigger and the action of the re-coil is harnessed to cause another round to be chambered and fired. Not as fast as ‘full auto’, but it would be difficult to tell the difference..........................

Red Badger :" Was he live-streaming it to somewhere or someone?............" That's a darned good question !
It's known that he used video cameras to see what was going on in the hallways, and outside his door.
One of the terrorist commentators made mention that he may have videoed so that other terrorist organizations could determine response time
and how law enforcement responded to the incident ( response time, tactics, procedures followed, SWAT, etc.).
I think that a word of caution by LEO in terms of how much information, timeline, and methods is in order.

“Gun dealer” explains the substantially larger then necessary number of guns discovered than were needed for a killing spree. 3 or 4 would have been more than adequate. 30+ is something else entirely.

I don’t know the difference between a bump stock and a bumpkin. But suspect it would be difficult for a 64-year old retiree to sustain 11 minutes of aparently accurate 300+ yard fire through two broken windows looking down from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay at night with billowing smoke everywhere.

Say this theory is true, or even 80% true.
There is no way the Feds and Media would report the truth. Between this and Hodgekinson, it would be only a matter of time before the favor gets returned, and then it's "Katy bar the door" time.

Is this Stephen Paddock?I highly doubt Paddock is the guy in the pink pussy hat.

Accuracy flies out the window, in this case literally, in automatic fire situations.
Even a blind man could kill dozens of people just pointing in the right direction.
There is no accuracy necessary in this situation, only hundreds of wholesale rounds raining down upon a crowd of innocents.............

I see it as primarily an Anti-Trump attack, also, but with a pro-left agenda. Why would any terrorist surround himself with so much firepower knowing full well that he may have used only 3 or 4 of the weapons leaving an additional 15 weapons in the hotel room totally unused and never fired during the incident ? Why would such a methodical and premeditated individual have such a large cache of weapons go totally unused, except to make a statement ? Foreign press have made mention of a note he left behind in the hotel room That note might explain his mindset and indicate his thoughts at the time of his terrorist actions.
I've thought about this also, and it seems to lead me towards believing that Paddock was part of a radicalized group. That he had the financial means, and was providing weapons for others to use, but that the rest 'chickened out'.
Last night the sheriffs office hinted that Paddock may have been radicalized. That would mean he may have been part of a group. I find it unlikely that he would have been radicalized by ISIS, and much more likely that it could have been a group like Antifa. I'm wondering if it's possible that he was radicalized by Antifa, and that other members of the group were supposed to take part, but they backed out.

It appears to be an Antifa/jihad mix. They are already trying to track down his Indonesian girlfriend and the source of his apparent “radicalization”. Could a grudge have determined the exact location of his attack? Sure.
