Great idea! I have a couple of Redskins jerseys that I wouldn’t mind burning.

Sounds like fun. If only we had some NFL gear to burn.

When I lived in Seattle, I enjoyed some amazing craft beers and was always disappointed in what the rest of the country had. There was Goose Island up north, but that was about it. For everyone else, “upscale beer” meant Heinekin.

Then I moved to Kentucky, land of Bud Light. I figured I’d given up on good beer.

Nope. Better than Seattle. Shocked the heck out of me.

I think the big beer companies are dying of a thousand cuts by all the craft brewers.

What I’m trying to decipher right now is how this latest cultural battle will end. It smells a lot like the “Battle of Same Sex Marriage” where we initially thought we had the upper hand, and instead we ended up getting routed.

When Kraperdick ignited this latest fuse, it definitely felt like we were going to win this one. But as in the fight over Same Sex Marriage, all of the propaganda organs, the RATS and some of the RINOs are starting to line up behind the other side.

What’s different about this battle, though, is that we the little people can enjoin the fight and have a lot to say about its outcome. We’re not simply bystanders at the mercy of some judge and the courts, as was the case for SSM.

So it’s going to come down to how painful we conservatives are willing and able to make it on the sports league, the owners, the sponsors, the broadcasters and the players.

If most conservatives are willing to give up on the “opiate of the masses” for an extended period of time, we’ll win this one. If the addiction is too strong to kick the habit, then we’ll get routed again.

Tough to predict this one right now.

That's because the Tyrants in Black Robes decided to get involved. Hard to see how they weasel their way into this fight.

Not watching TV is good, but cutting the cord (i.e. dropping cable or satellite) is far better. ESPN, CNN, and others make a good deal of their income from subcriptions, i.e. they get a portion of every dollar you pay to your cable provider, whether you watch their channel or not, as long as they are part of nearly every “basic” package. A boycott might annoy them, but dropping cable or satellite TV will hit them right in the pocketbook where they can’t ignore it.

If enough people cut the cord, we could literally force ESPN out of business. And by derivation, they could not pay NFL for coverage. The whole house of cards is built on forcing everyone who has cable or satellite TV to pay for crap like this that many don’t watch and even more do not agree with. It’s a rigged system.

What I'm trying to decipher right now is how this latest cultural battle will end. It smells a lot like the "Battle of Same Sex Marriage" where we initially thought we had the upper hand, and instead we ended up getting routed.

The difference here is that this battle isn't being fought in courtrooms. And I simply don't see any scenario where it ends up in a courtroom because nobody is going to have any legal standing to sue anyone over it.

If you look at the "Same-Sex Marriage" battle from the standpoint of Target and JC Penney (from one side) and Chick-Fil-A (from the other side), it sure as hell wasn't a defeat for us at all.

The only thing at stake here is what normal, decent Americans are willing to do with the Sunday afternoons.

This is the easiest battle in the world to win. The only way to lose it is if people are too lazy, slovenly and disinterested to even change their habits.

If I had any NFL junk, I’d join you. Since I don’t, I’ll look for the smoke on Sunday in my neighborhood and bring a six pack.

Don’t own a single NFL item or any MLS items.
I quit watching most professional sports years ago when i realized what a sucker i am rooting for millionaires and billionaires while i myself could hardly afford a Big Mac.

Quit watching and attending the Bruins when Ray Bourque quit the team in practical disgust but still watch sunday Patriots games.
Been thinking real hard today about quitting the pats as well..

You sure have some ultra thick rosy glasses.

That’s like losing a game 60-3 and bragging about the field goal you got.

I don’t know if you read my whole post, but I do state that this is a fight that we can and should win because unlike SSM, we have all the power to do so. It’s a matter of will.
