The most interesting thing about this whole “protest” deal is they’re protesting a country where their sort of protest doesn’t get you thrown in a gulag, or even death. And they’re too dimwitted to realize the irony of their protests.

Instead, these “perfumed princes” simply put on a show, so they can claim “they did something.”

As far as I’m concerned, when an athlete puts on a uniform, they’re acting as a representative of the “brand,” and that’s what a team is - a brand. When a representative of a brand performs an act, it reflects on that brand. If a team owner doesn’t take any action, like a fine, that’s no different than a tacit approval. And more to the point, the NFL controls all the teams. So if the owner, and if the NFL, do nothing when one or more players do something that the fans, AKA “customers,” they shouldn’t be surprised when those customers go away.

I used to buy a bit of fan gear, maybe a shirt or even a jersey every year, and I’d watch the games. Not any more.
