NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Saturday that President Trump’s recent comments about players kneeling during the national anthem are “divisive” and show a “lack of respect” for the pro football league and its players.
“The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture," he said in a statement. "Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”
Goodell's statement follows Trump's comments during a rally Friday night in Alabama in which he slammed NFL players for knealing during the national anthem.

The fatal lack of respect is coming from the NFL, not from the President of the United States.
Agreed. They are hopeless. But this is what the Democrats wants.
Maybe someone has posted information on the political leanings of NFL watchers.
It would be my guess that 70% of the people who regularly watch NFL are on the conservative side of the political spectrum. That would particularly be the case regarding the people who buy tickets to a game.
Now maybe the couch potato NFL watchers might be a bit more liberal, but I would think conservatives are a majority.
The NFL seems to be committing suicide.

Some of those players don’t respect anyone but their mothers, and much of that respect is misplaced.

I never have and never will respect any football player. IMO they are all a bunch of overpaid, overrated frigen goons.

Why so many in leadership roles how to PC and SJW is beyond me, other than simple fear of the media meat grinder for speaking for conservative, patriotic, moral or Christian positions.
They’re learning the costly downside of that. And they’ll have to figuratively kiss our lilly white behinds to get us back. They’ll have to speak our side’s language, clearly and accurately.

One of my family members who played football refuses to watch the NFL because he thinks it is a corrupt abomination. He’ll watch college ball. My gripe is that the whole venture is heavily subsidized by taxpayers who end up on the hook for most of the stadium construction costs to say nothing of any other incentives and tax exemptions. I’m not as mad at the players as I am at the league and the owners who are utterly abusive crony capitalists IMO.

Earlier today, I posted a video of a WWII burial at sea, gunner and plane, as a stark reminder of what the NFL, owners and players, are disrespecting with their actions, words, and attitudes. As the widow of a retired USAF fighter pilot who served in Vietnam and who now lies in a national cemetery with his patriot brothers and sisters, I find all the disrespect for our flag and anthem highly offensive. It’s personal!
Perhaps this video dated February 12, 1973, will get through the thick skulls of mush of the clueless human debris who have never fought and bled for this country and who have no idea what freedom truly means. Those “taking a knee” or whatever other form they use to not respect our flag and those allowing it, disrespect all who served and all those who serve today and those who will serve in the future!
Using your child to disrespect our flag and anthem is equally as reprehensible!

The NFL owners are all white except for one Pakistani billionaire.
They are afraid to tell their thug black players that this is entertainment, not a venue for their own pity party, self-righteous, captive audience leftwing and racist political spew.
The National Felon League will not allow players to take a knew to honor God, but allow thugs to cause division, hatred, and strife.

I have two Nephews that fought in Vietnam, one just died 4 months ago, the other has many many problems...
My friend that I lived with in PA for 17 years was a Marine in Vietnam for two tours and seeing what I seen during the Vietnam war, I admire these people who give their lives to fight for our Freedoms...
And ‘skulls of mush’ is exactly what is happening to this Country, the parents are not teaching, the teachers are not teaching, and the Colleges are a dump and nothing is being taught...
