Schumer's Now Threatening to Add DREAM Act to Every Bill Until It Passes

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is threatening to attach a bill that protects DACA recipients to any and every must-pass legislation that moves this fall if Republicans fail to bring legislation to help the 800,000 illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as children.

"Congress has an ability and an obligation to act, which is why we today are calling on Speaker Ryan and Leader McConnell to immediately put the DREAM Act on the floor for a vote in the House and Senate," Schumer said during a press conference with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

"But let us say this, and I think I speak for the Leader as well, if a clean DREAM Act does not come to the floor in September, we're prepared to attach it to other items this Fall until it passes," he added.

Schumer slammed President Trump's decision to end DACA as "heartless" and "brainless."

“If this order stands, hundreds, hundreds of thousands of families will be ripped apart, tens of thousands of American businesses will lose hard-working employees,” the New York Democrat said.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Tuesday that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program would be rescinded with a six-month delay.

"We are a people of compassion and we are a people of law. But there is nothing compassionate about the failure to enforce immigration laws," Sessions said during the announcement.

Surprisingly, Schumer had a similar view in 2009.

“First, illegal immigration is wrong,” Schumer said during a speech at the Immigration Law & Policy Conference at Georgetown Law. “A primary goal of comprehensive immigration reform must be to dramatically curtail future illegal immigration.”

Some Pubbies want him gone too. I’m not sitting out anything. At least we have a Republican who is pro Trump in my Upstate NY district but they want to take that one too. Had a RINO in it until 2016. So I am fighting for the one that is there now. It’s the faut Republicans that our worst enemies right now. We always know the democrats are. Mitch is useless as is Ryan. They don’t care about Trump which is why Chuckie the Schmuck is so powerful. I’d love to see Gilibrand lose too, but NYC rules the state, cancels out all of us upstate.

More likely the issue would be voters staying home—and that would hit the GOP house and senate just as hard.

This is a nation of more than 300 million people. Giving this kind of priority to 800,000 people who are living here illegally demonstrates a sense or priorities that can only be described as completely warped and f#%&ed up.
>

True, but WHO’S going to do anything about it??

>
The GOP will face a disaster next year — and probably for years after that — if we get to the spring of 2018 and we have some kind of permanent “solution” in place for these 800,000 illegal immigrants ... while Americans are still dealing with this abomination known as ObamaCare.

Maybe I missed the election(s) where the incumbent (90%) DIDN’T win re-election.

I don’t see the droves MOVING away from the (R) party; being church-mouse silent on all that’s be ‘done’ since Jan., they must approve (Flake, McStain, Ryan, O’Care, taxes, amnesty....).

Or are the electorate to hold their noses for the lesser-of-two, yet again, and ‘hold their feet to the fire’ (as if that’s worked at any time in the past...or CHANGED anything in the ‘halls of power’)?

You would see record low turnout among GOP voters next year. Bank on it.

If 90% of the Republican incumbents win re-election next year, they lose control of the House.

He is making it pretty plain that while he may oppose amnesty for illegals in general, he favors it in this case.
>

In direct opposition to his stated plan while running...Yet, he still gets a pass from a majority here. Just WOW.

I do hope when they write this law, they will write it in such a way that felons get booted without any major heartburn. If you are in prison, you go. If you are headed to prison and you aren’t a citizen, and your green card is granted through DACA, you go without any appeal.

IOW, depart them ALL?? What’s the charge(s) for: illegal entry/visa over-stay, SS\identity fraud, driving w/o a license/insurance, fraud\perjury (mail, schools, govt services, etc.)??

Sure as hell if *I* did any ONE, it wouldn’t be a swat on the wrist!

But, we’ll just worry ‘bout the ones that were *CAUGHT* and give ‘em the boot?? 2x-WOW.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHahahahahahahaha

*gasp*
*gasp*

hahahahahahahahaha *weeze* hahahahaha

I fail to recall the last time that was ATTEMPTED, let alone *done* (fine, the ‘Contract w/ America’. How much is still viable?? Always seems the baby-steps to restoring freedom are quickly over-taken and yardage given up.)

Well, at least Trump signalled his willingness to make a deal.

Making a deal with Schumer is not different from making a deal with the islamonazis in Tehran.

I don’t think Chuckie Schumer realizes Pres. Trump just used him and Pelosi to get the relief bill/debt ceiling issue out of the way. Chuckie is playing checkers with a chess master.

Fine, add funding for the wall to every bill. Two can play at that game.

By making it legal.
