Schumer's Now Threatening to Add DREAM Act to Every Bill Until It Passes

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is threatening to attach a bill that protects DACA recipients to any and every must-pass legislation that moves this fall if Republicans fail to bring legislation to help the 800,000 illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as children.

"Congress has an ability and an obligation to act, which is why we today are calling on Speaker Ryan and Leader McConnell to immediately put the DREAM Act on the floor for a vote in the House and Senate," Schumer said during a press conference with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

"But let us say this, and I think I speak for the Leader as well, if a clean DREAM Act does not come to the floor in September, we're prepared to attach it to other items this Fall until it passes," he added.

Schumer slammed President Trump's decision to end DACA as "heartless" and "brainless."

“If this order stands, hundreds, hundreds of thousands of families will be ripped apart, tens of thousands of American businesses will lose hard-working employees,” the New York Democrat said.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Tuesday that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program would be rescinded with a six-month delay.

"We are a people of compassion and we are a people of law. But there is nothing compassionate about the failure to enforce immigration laws," Sessions said during the announcement.

Surprisingly, Schumer had a similar view in 2009.

“First, illegal immigration is wrong,” Schumer said during a speech at the Immigration Law & Policy Conference at Georgetown Law. “A primary goal of comprehensive immigration reform must be to dramatically curtail future illegal immigration.”

Can anyone imagine what it would be like if the politicians cared as much about the tax payers as they did illegals, Muzzies and fags

You have no right to steal this children from their home countries. Send them home. No one is dreaming anymore in the US anyway thanks to progressive policies. These children are much safer in their home countries than they are in large progressive US cities.

I agree that seems most likely. Trump made many statements affirming dreamers during his campaign.
My theory, trump can’t find the veto pen because it doesn’t have boobs.

Good for Chuck - helping Trump stick it in Ryan and McConnell’s eye for being a wasted majority. If they don’t come around soon, the mid-terms will be rough on them and they will have no answer.

It’s not even clear that the gop has 50 votes to change the senate rules.

Trump made a huge mistake in how he handled this. He should have just ended DACA and not tried to pull this stunt of “I’m telling Congress to give amnesty.” If that was some kind of Machiavellian scheme to make Congress look foolish for not being able to pass legislation again(like they did with healthcare), it may backfire spectacularly.

Trump may go down in 2020 over this. It would only take a few % of Trump voters to go third party and he’s toast.

And there you have it, Ladies and Gentlemen. The real leader of the country, Chuck Schumer.

It would be so simple to defeat this outrageous proposition. Every time a bill comes up with the DREAM act, attached, simply go on tv and say that the “bill” is for this or that. Make it only be one bill, for one thing(as it should be). Let the world know that Schumer is holding up the “bill”. Even though it’s almost impossible to shame a Democrat, do your level best.

Of course, that won’t happen. The Republicans and President will cave.

You don't get it. Trump's voters are loyal to Trump, not the GOP. It's the Pubbies in Congress who are going down over this.

Sure Chucky Cheese lets deal:

Two walls with no man’s land zone and Mexico pays for the walls; modest fed budget; 20 thousand new ICE and border patrol agents; big increase military spending; mucho deregulation; comprehensive tax cuts.

No citizenship and no voting rights for DACA, and they go back of the line for citizenship through established channels, and a ton of more hoops they have to jump through that needs to be applied.

No, Trump’s core voters are loyal to anti-amnesty, not to Trump personally.

Don’t worry, the pubbies will cave.

They can't or they lose in 2018 bigtime. Not votes, which they will and don't care about. But they lose money. They lose power. And they lose influence which they do care about.

I'll bet that within a month we see Trump's agenda back on the table.
