Headline only so far.
North Korea is preparing to launch a ballistic missile right now
Richard Hartley-Parkinson for Metro.co.uk Monday 4 Sep 2017
Seoul military says North Korea appears to be readying launch of a ballistic missile, possibly an intercontinental ballistic missile.
We have continued to see signs of possibly more ballistic missile launches. We also forecast North Korea could fire an intercontinental ballistic missile, said Chang Kyung-soo, a defence ministry official.
What is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy’s strategy. - Sun Tzu
What is of supreme importance in war is to know and understand the enemy’s strategy. - Ray76
Why does NK want us to strike them? What is their strategy?
Never do what your enemy desires, for this reason alone: that he desires it - Napoleon
Curious to whom these audacious pronouncements are truly directed.
Maybe he doesn’t think we will.
Look at the last four administrations.
NOBODY has given him even one indication, we would attack.
"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face." - Mike Tyson
NK believes U.S. won't because their blackmail will work.
Bump!!
North Korea obviously has a death wish.
I don’t know if we have a plan. Maybe it is to take a hit and then attack. Probably the most likely one we have.
When we attack wep must go all in. Beware of Russia and China.
Surely he knows the consequences of punching us. He wants us to punch first.
Who is supplying him with the missiles and bombs? Why do they want us to punch first?
Recall that China has surfaced subs in the middle of our naval exercises, much to our surprise. Perhaps there are subs just off our coasts. Recall also that China believes war with the US is inevitable.
Don’t give them what they want. Kill Kim, but stealthily.
Recall also that China has recently stated they would attack if we attacked NK first.
I read the Art of War a long time ago, before I found myself in the Army Infantry. I was somewhat surprised then when I saw a plaque on the wall of my battalion’s war room that said: “Destroy the enemy, not his plans”. The difference between eastern war fighting philosophy and western war fighting philosophy was immediately clear to me. I think maybe there is a time and a place for both philosophies.
We will attack by revoking most favored nation status to China, and giving it to India.

They don't want us to strike them.
They are trying as quickly as possible to demonstrate that they have already "broken out" as a nuclear weapons power.
We already hear those whose interest is to defend the legacies of Obama and Clinton in the media putting out the line about how now that NK is nuclear, we have to learn to live with it, we have lived with other nuclear powers for decades, there has never been a nuclear war, etc.
Kim is trying to give them support for their argument of "well, it's too late to do anything about it, they're already a nuclear power, we'll just have to live with it."
Who is supplying them? That is a key data point.
In chess, the perception of a threat is often more powerful than the reality of the threat. I’m guessing that N.K. just doesn’t see us attacking — why should they given our behavior the past few decades.
I don’t believe NK wants us to strike them, they just don’t believe we will — especially now that they has upped the ante.
If this is the case their strategy is blackmail. IMHO, to attack the strategy of blackmail is to attack them. STOP REWARDING BLACKMAIL OF ANY KIND.
I am afraid the only solution to this is either China acts or we need to defend ourselves with some kind of attack that truly puts fear totally on the minds of all of American enemies.
I would tell China, if you do not help us with NK, then we will arm SK, Japan, India, and perhaps Tiawan to the teeth with nukes, anti ballistic missile tech and fighter jets.
I would also tell China we know where all your critical dams are.
It is ugly, but we clearly have the strategic upper hand.
Perilous times indeed.
yup
plenty of countries have nukes. it’s ain’t a big deal these days
the chicken kitties running around screaming the sky is falling need to get their act together
