NcGreggor was all but out on feet.
I meant Conor.... you know, angry leprechauns all sound the same to me.
a thabhairt dom go pota óir
Ref saved Mayweather in beginning of 9th. McGregor had him hurt to body and ref jumped in for no reason to give Mayweather time to recover. Respect to both.woth the $99
Did you enjoy it? Live a little. Spend a few bucks. Stay up late. Not all the time, but don’t beat self up for enjoying a Saturday night towards end of summer.
Exactly. My family enjoyed it too. Nice to watch a spectacle with the family, Glad you enjoyed
Drunk much?
Sipped a few during the match. So be it. It was a late Saturday night watching that rigged turd of a match.
Drinking lots of water now. Church in the morning and I have to flush this out or my wife will kill me.
[[Ref did the right thing tonight. Death can come quickly. ]]
Exactly0- I watched boom boom mancini kill dook koo kim in the ring back in the day- Kim took a brutal beating- the ref let it go on too long-
The ref observed that conner was not able to defend himself well enough and stopped it because conner was simply outclassed- it would have been dangerous to let it go on further
Great fight. Conor would have survived to next round. I can live with the stoppage though. 49-0 vs 0-0 is crazy cool.
I bet big -easy money. MMA or no, McG was an amateur fighting his first boxing match against a professional at the top of his game.
I am sort of a boxing fan. Meaning I have watched boxing for years especially the championship bouts. Have never gone pay per view as I grew up in the fifties where they were all on TV.
So, last night I watched the first preliminary fight as I had a meeting during the fight. The prelim fight was in my opinion a barn burner of a fight that featured two unbeaten fighters at 147 lbs. and went ten rounds.
There were at least two knockdowns of the older fighter by a bull of a younger fighter who lost the fight and got jabbed to a pulp so to speak, but fought his style and almost won by knockout twice.
The bull lost in the end to a more experienced fighter who almost lost three times (twice to being floored and once or twice to fatigue) and was hanging on literally for the tenth round. I would say not having seen the McGregor/Mayweather fight, I believe I got to see the better fight.
I have a bet with the guys that work for me that the ref would stop the fight in the tenth round. Just enough to make sure everyone got their money’s worth. Smart guys and a few actually believe this crap isn’t scripted.
The Irish man was robbed...
No surprise - Mayweather has one goal when he steps in a ring - do NOT get hit. Not even once if it can be helped. Over the years he’s passive while the challenger tires himself out. Once there’s little risk of being hurt he hits. I hate him. But he always wins. If Chavez or Pacqiaou couldn’t hurt, him there was no way this MMA guy was going to.
“Amazing that McGregor lasted that long and that Mayweather couldnt put him away much earlier...”
This fight was an object lesson in the adage “Never interrupt your opponent when they’re making a mistake.” CM probably thought the fight would go maybe 6 rounds at most, so paced himself to give everything in those early rounds. FM seemed perfectly happy to wait him out and only really engage when CM was too exhausted to punch back.
Mayweather has got to his 50-0 record by picking the strategy most likely to get the win, irrespective of how it is perceived. Usually that means quite dull, defensive displays, grinding to a points decision. In this case it actually made for a reasonably entertaining fight, because the other guy had nothing much to lose in just going for it early.
