Set aside our casualties....and God bless them...but the war has honed our military to a fine edge. We need to kill many more and then come home

I don’t know.

Here is what I do know.

Ben Shapiro says Bannon is a ‘Deeply Vengeful Guy’

I absolutely believe he is going to gun for:

Mcmaster, Gary Cohn, Javanka, Dina Powell...and maybe Kelly.

Breitbart is linking to that Vanity Fair article.

It’s a warning, IMO .

You move left and I will help impeach you.

Vietnam got better on its own. After all the killing and other communist ideas didn’t work.

Interesting thoughts.

Seems like you need a combination

We will never be that brutal. We aren’t even allowed to have statues of Christopher Columbus anymore.

What is our stated objective in Afghanistan?

The Middle East is where great nations go to die. Check your history.

Supplant the uniformed troops with Blackwater, and ask no more questions but one:
“Do they exist yet?”
Pax Carthage!!

Erik Prince got knocked out of the discussion after Bannon quit/got the axe.

There’s the key question

Is Trump smart enough to narrow down the mission to an attainable goal?
If our troops are a forward deployed force to detect and neutralize terrorists that may pose a threat to the US , then that is the mission at which they should succeed

If the mission is trying to prop up some centralized Afghan government and build some new western-style democratic nation in that shithole culture, then we can never succeed

Trump’s Afghan Plan ‘Will Have the U.S. Not Winning, but Not Losing’

Mora comes to his conclusion without seeing the plan.

The reason we went there was for Osama Bin Laden. Well now he is dead. So there is no reason to be there anymore.

You forgot to mention that we were also there to get Al Qaeda.

Disappointing.

What is the military situation in Afghanistan now?
The defence secretary, James Mattis, has admitted the US and its allies are “not winning” the war in Afghanistan. The Kabul government had control over just over half the districts in the country by the end of last year, which was 15% down on the year before. The Taliban are pressing government forces across the country and the local Isis affiliate, the Islamic State in Khorasan, is on the rise.

Officially, there are 8,400 US troops in the country – although Mattis has suggested the real number may be higher – most of them serving as trainers and advisers to the Afghan national army, with 2,000 special forces and support troops tasked with a specific counterterrorism operations against Isis and other militants.
