The underlying premise is that Southern whites in the 1860s were uniquely bad. In fact racism as we now call it (the word wasn't invented until later) was just as prevalent in the North. Lincoln had to make the war a war to reunite the Union--if he had made it a war to end slavery at the outset the North would have failed. Tocqueville in Democracy in America (1830s) thought racial prejudice was more intense in regions where slavery had been abolished than in regions where it still existed.
BLM is offensive and must be destroyed. BLM is a racist organization with members unfit to breathe American Air
These are the same People who believe the Civil War began simply because of Slavery.
It evolved to include abolishing Slavery.
President Lincoln wanted to Free the Slaves, and proposed sending them home to Africa.
Please post a link to that proposal by Lincoln.
HULK SMASH COMMIES
I’ve read it here numerous times.

We were not fighting for the perpetuation of slavery, but for the principle of States Rights and Free Trade, and in defense of our homes which were being ruthlessly invaded. Moses Jacob Ezekiel, Confederate soldier and sculptor
Let’s not forget Lincoln was elected without a single vote in the South, as he was not on the ballot.
It would be like going to the polls, casting a vote for Trump or Hillary and finding some nobody you ever heard of was suddenly President.
I am offended by BLM and any record of their existence must be removed from public view...NOW.
Suppressed by the government and the complicit media, of course.
C-SPAN-3 was replaying a talk this morning by Michael Neiberg, who is mainly a WWI specialist, but he was talking about total war and at times was talking about the US Civil War as well as WWI. He cited a study by another scholar of soldiers’ letters in the Civil War. It seems that Texas soldiers writing home never said anything about slavery until 1864—until then it didn’t enter their minds that it might disappear as a result of the war.
Because of the electoral college, Lincoln would have won even if all the votes for his 3 opponents had been combined for just one man--he had just enough support in enough Northern states for an electoral college victory even though he only had 39% of the popular vote. Of course none of the others had as much as 39%.
Plenty of freepers would agree
