Exactly right, regardless of how any of us feels on this issue, the fact that he is publically dissing his CIC, he should be removed from his Command post immediately.
The Admiral must have a superior officer that can fire him. Why would it have to be Trump?

There is. He should be relieved of his position, ASAP, awaiting court martial, and no ticker tape parade like MacArthur got. Trump has had a lot of experience at firing people. This admiral is very misguided. While he reports to Homeland Security and not DOD, except during wartime, the president is still his CinC no matter what.
Has the President sent his formal policy to the Dept of Defense? Having said that, this guy is far out of line and should have been fired by now. I hope Trump’s tweet doesn’t just vanish into the fog of the swamp. So far, no formal action on it. How long should it take to draft an executive order to dress and act like your birth gender or get out?
Just another example of how the military became a left wing social lab. Trump should have fired every three and four star officer on his first day since almost every one of them were Obama officers. They would have never reached those levels without being willing to put Obama ahead of country and service. (Thus says this retired Army Officer)
