I have an idea on immigration: Slam the door on new illegal immigrants - deport every single one of them and bar them from legal entry forever.
I have another idea on immigration: Slow the rate to a level that is most beneficial for American citizens. Only allow the numbers, the countries of origin, and the skills that will help US citizens.
That works until the amount of increase is doubled, or more, with births. And at some point we will reach the numbers of China. They had the right idea when they said many years ago that because of the population and it’s “growth,” China could start marching people into the sea at eight abreast and never run out of people. Their is a limit to the size of the crew in the boat before it sinks. And not counting additional crew is a mistake.

Even better idea: deport all the illegals, deport migrants drawing welfare, close the doors to all Muslims (including family members of those here), close the doors to avowed socialists or worse as well as PCdiots of any stripe, cut the numbers permitted by 80-90% even then.

This economics of this proposed immigration scheme is structurally (isomorphic to) a Ponzi scheme. Ultimately there is a limit where everything falls apart. This plan is doomed to failure, although the destruction remains forever.
Of course the Chamber of Commerce boys have no problem with because it matches their ethical (or lack thereof) sensibilities.

First they tell Americans to have fewer children, or none at all, because of “global warming” or “global starvation” in my generation -— then they push abortion at every turn to kill off as many Americans as possible that are “accidentally” conceived. Finally, they want to replace Americans with foreigners!!! If they can get this done, America, our USA, will be lost in one single generation as the two imported immigrants have 5-6 children while native born Americans have one or remain childless to be PC acceptable.
