The Time of Universal Deceit
Original Material | 7/31/2017 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 07/31/2017 6:31:52 AM PDT by Lazamataz

In the opening pages of the book "Foundation", written by Isaac Azimov, he describes the beginning of the fall of the Empire. The Empire was a multi-star-system civilization of trillions of people, but it was beginning to rot. One of the key characters observes that a researcher, a pompous Lord of a planet, considered it 'scientific method' to read someone else's work, saying "Why should I travel to another planet? Someone has already written about it." The protagonist thought, "Scientific method, hell. No wonder the galaxy was going to pot."

Azimov was prescient. We find ourselves in a similar time. All the technologic wonders of this era are being challenged by Social Justice Warriors (who, among other things, claim algebra is racist), and by shortcut-taking scientists that purchase or wrangle "peer review" of their scientific work (that is nothing of the sort).

This is the time of universal lying. Consider:

  1. Major "news" networks and papers use to have a policy of requiring two sources, preferably identified and credible, before presenting news. That has been discarded, in the effort to depose President Donald Trump. Now you will see articles and editorials based on a single anonymous source, often making incredulous claims. The Washington Post (one of the most egregious practitioners of the policy) even noted the alarming trend back in the year 2013. The release of the utterly-fabricated "Russian Dossier" on President Donald Trump is one of the most prominent examples of the complete collapse of the trustworthiness of major 'news' organizations.
  2. The scientific "peer review" system is completely broken. Many journals and organizations are retracting articles based on discovery that they were "peer reviewed" by fraudulent people. From that article: "The practice can occur when researchers submitting a paper for publication suggest reviewers, but supply contact details for them that actually route requests for review back to the researchers themselves." Several journals even 'peer reviewed' nonsense based on Star Wars pseudo-science, and those papers survived the review process.
  3. Social Justice Warriors have acted to remove algebra -- one of the simplist forms of abstract math -- from student curriculums, claiming that it is discriminatory to certain minorities. Eloy Ortiz Oakley, the chancellor of California’s community college system said he wants to abolish the college algebra requirement and called it a “civil rights issue”.
  4. The public confidence in major 'news' organs was as low as 32% in 2016, and may have sunk lower than that. Alternative media has filled some of the information gap -- news that the major organs simply will not cover, such as the possible spying scandal of politico Wasserman-Shultz and the Pakistani Awan Brothers -- but alternative media has its own credibility problems.
  5. Various 'fact checking organizations', such as Snopes, have been demonstrated to be politically-aligned and unable to operate impartially.

Where does this leave us, when the organs of news no longer adhere to time-honored standards; when science is poorly peer-reviewed; when the fact-checkers need their facts checked?

It leaves us in a time of universal deceit, and as George Orwell once famously said, "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." America must be based in its entirety on truth. Truth must exist in science and in news, both print and broadcast. Thomas Jefferson warned us, in an 1816 letter, that "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."

Very well done. Think of this: the left is systematically removing or deconstructing all “scientific truths.”

1. Beginning over 500 years ago, it was becoming known that defecation in the streets was a health hazard. They didn’t get “germs” yet, but intuitively they knew this was bad and began building latrine areas, then later, in the 1800s, public water & sanitation that dramatically cut down disease in cities (cited in our “Patriot’s History of the United States”).

NOW, due to barbaric immigrants (mostly Moslems) it is becoming “ok” to poop and urinate in the streets so as to not culturally offend people.

2. Christian universities were built in the 1500s, at a rate of one every six months to start, to perpetuate and expand knowledge-—ultimately by questioning all propositions. Christianity has thrived despite this scientific questioning. But now, questioning leftist propositions is “racist” or “sexist.” Hence you have universities looking to STOP CITING works of “white males” or to deny tenure & promotion to whites. I already saw in hiring of faculty a de facto version of this, where is your history dissertation was not overloaded with “race, class, gender,” your topic wasn’t “cutting edge” and therefore you couldn’t get a job.

Business history, military history, economic history (unless done from the standpoint of oppression), biography was ALL shut down. You cannot find “military history” even taught in most major universities, and “American Revolution/Constitution” is not offered.

This is a major element of the lying culture. It lies about what is significant (the key question of history, since WRITING HISTORY demands the writer separate the significant from the insignificant, as you cannot tell all stories).

How does one become a “Peer Reviewed Journal?”

Is FR one by default of its membership?

I’ll be dwelling on this thought today as I have some roof work to do, which is a great place to commune with God and yourself...

while remaining carefully aware that I am on a roof and one mistep and I become a non-winged flyer destined to hurt myself, or worse.

Hey Dave and Laz,

This thread is excellent. Laz, you make a fine case for Orwell's revolutionary thought.

The SJW's talk a good "no technology" game, but take away their cell phones and they scream murder.

When I lived in Japan in the early 80s I bought one of these:

Lesson learned? Electronic gadgets are not necessarily better than simpler tools. If you know what you're doing, main addition and subtraction problems are faster and more reliable on an abacus.

Dave, love the article by Nassim Taleb. He's one of my heros.

You, sir, have a parachute. I do not.

Nonetheless, age creeps up on me, and I can rest in the fact that I experienced the very best years America had to offer.

I like your comparison between Dems and Reps. I usually put it like this: Voting Dem is like taking a .45 caliber slug to the temple. Voting Rep is like taking a .22 to the same place.

I have a very close family member who is a geneticist. I asked him if there was a gay gene found and he said no.

“What you describe here is a kakistocracy, or “government by the worst persons; a form of government in which the worst persons are in power.”

Unfortunately, they started being in power and in control of our lives during Teddy Roosevelt’s time.

That continued until our 8 years of Reagan.

President Trump is trying to drain the Deep State Swamps controlled by the Intellectuals Yet Idiots from DC down to the state level, county and city level.

This is why the Intellectuals Yet Idiots, Democrats and the Mediots hate President Trump so much.

If he succeeds, they will have lost their hundred + year battle to tell us how to live, where to live, what to eat, how to vote and how to raise our families.

The whole peer review system in science is deeply flawed.

But, it generally means that other scientist in your field evaluate your paper and gives it a green or a red light.

To me, it is an outdated system.

Any research can now be published on the web.

Then let the scientific method take its course.

“Dave, love the article by Nassim Taleb. He’s one of my heros.”

Thanks, a good friend sent me that article by Nassim Taleb.

After you read it a few times, his reality re our world starts to sink in.

My grand dad warned us about the Progressives, TR, Wilson and FDR and their dangerous lies, a long time ago.

When many of my cousins and I started to college, he warned us not to believe most of what was being taught. That was in the late 1950’s to end of the 1960’s.

I look back at the BS that was being spread during my college years, like America had no more oil to find, drill for and to refine. To what a great guy Fidel Castro was.

The BS and lies got worse in the late 1960’s and 1970’s in our colleges and universities.

The lies of the Intellectual Yet Idiots were reborn then and have grown to what we face everyday of our lives. They have basically destroyed most of our colleges, universities with their lies. That has gone down to our public schools from K to 12.

The death grip of the Intellectual Yet Idiots and their politicians is worse in the UK and the Euro Trash countries.

I too have 'peer reviewed' this essay and found it SPOT ON, DUDE! The anthropogenic global warming hoax was so demolished when the fake peer reviews were debunked that the media quietly changed their tune to 'global warming' leaving the unstated inference that it is the same as 'anthropogenic global warming'.

The deeper tragedy of this endorsed lying is what it causes ... the real polluting of our shared planet is ignored or shuttled tot he rear so the fake issue can be pounded into the social psyche. Bravo, Laz, for pulling the covers off of the zeit geist.

Mobile home ... ain't skeered !

I've ridden the paper down once on a single story ranch house when I was about 35 and I landed on my feet ... but I never forgot that 10 seconds.

Thank you for the caution.

Have you read about ‘the Rapture’? God says He is not going to fix the nasty brokenness; He is about to snatch away the ones He has chosen (for believing in Whom He has sent as Savior), then let the rot fester, and end it by burning up the filth and starting anew.

Well done, Laz. Thanks for posting.

For anyone who has not studied the concept of “woe” as presented in the scripture, it is NOT trivial. It is not just a “tsk, tsk, you did something bad”... It is more akin to “disaster”, “ruin”, “extreme punishment”, etc.

Politicians, liberals, and the main stream media are collecting a MOUNTAIN of woe:

Isaiah 5:20King James Version (KJV)

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
