WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has spoken with advisers about firing Attorney General Jeff Sessions, as he continues to rage against Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from all matters related to the Russia investigation.

The president’s anger again bubbled into public view Monday as he referred to Sessions in a tweet as “beleaguered.” Privately, Trump has speculated aloud to allies in recent days about the potential consequences of firing Sessions, according to three people who have recently spoken to the president. They demanded anonymity to discuss private conversations.

Trump often talks about making staff changes without following through, so those who have spoken with the president cautioned that a change may not be imminent or happen at all. What is clear is that Trump remains furious that the attorney general recused himself from the investigations.

I had just made a comment about AP News going from reporting to editorializing. This is a good example. Fake News? I post, you decide.

Fake news which might have actually been leaked by Trump himself. Trump’s all about misdirection and something big is about to happen.

How cowardly if true, but it probably is not true.

If it is anonymous it is probably false news.

Who needs “ advisors” who blab this type of conversation to the press???

Is there NO loyalty to the President?
No one to whom he can speak confidentially for advice??

Sessions is great but, his hasty decision to recuse put Dem holdovers in charge of the Justice Dept and we got an indy counsel that has hamstrung the administration. We can have Sessions or #MAGA but it appears, not both, at this point. I want #MAGA.

Fake news.

This is the problem with CNN...almost 30 minutes of every hour now is focused on editorializing. Back in January, it might have been worth the effort but I think they’ve lost about a quarter of their normal viewers since January, and I think another quarter will disappear by spring of next year. If they just focused on the anti-Trump theme for one single hour each night...they might have kept some people as viewers and they could have avoided that anti-Trump hour. But by mixing this throughout the day....why watch?

No. This is about ComDems taking down a Republican POTUS. This is about a dying(by suicide) media trying to retain power, money and privilege. It is even bigger than that, it is about some scheming globalist b-tards grasping to put in place a globalist cabal to subject the entire world. Great Evil.

These leaks are very likely to have the POTUS stamp of approval. He’s tweeting about the AG bright and early this AM.

I looked at the DOJ website. Jeff Sessions, as far as I can see, is the only confirmed Trump appointee in the department. The other senior positions are held by Actings, including a couple of former Sessions Senate staffers, who may be perfectly good hires but who have also not been confirmed. That's in DC. Across the country, the U.S. Attorneys are mostly Acting, with quite a few Obama holdovers still in place. So: if Trump fires Sessions, he will have fired the only Trump person in the entire Department (assuming the longtime Sessions staffers do not long survive the ouster of their boss).

As of last week, Trump had exactly 47 appointees confirmed across the entire government. Most open leadership positions do not yet even have nominees. Maybe Trump should start staffing his administration before he starts firing the few people he does have.

I think the people in this White House are in a bubble, or bunker, and are mostly oblivious to the great, grinding machinery of the government. They seem to be utterly consumed with the twitter wars and think they are busy because they are frantically responding to today's media distractions. The inner circle consists mostly of amateurs who seem to have a virtual reality view of the job. The government is a huge lumbering machine that can run for a long time on autopilot if all you want is more of the same. But it requires effective management if you actually want to change anything.

Cabinet Secretaries are running huge operations with tens of thousands of employees. The idea that a Secretary and three political appointees on his personal staff can effectively direct something that big is nonsensical. But the people in charge, and not just Trump himself, seem so busy with twitter wars and day to day damage control that they are simply ignoring 99 percent of what the government actually does.

Before Trump fires Sessions, if he does (and I think that would be a mistake), he'd better make sure the rest of the department is staffed with administration picks. Does anyone here really want to be a year into the Trump administration and have a DOJ without a single Republican in a management role?

Who is running the office of presidential personnel? It seems to be a black hole.

Trump needs to give Session an ultimatum. Unrecuse or resign.

Loretta Lynch is probably laughing her ass off. She meddled in the FBI investigation, met Clinton at the tarmac and when was told to recuse herself she told them to go pound sand.

“he will have fired the only Trump person in the entire Department”

Now that’s a joke. Sessions was right there when Mueller was unleashed on Trump.

Session’s deputy was confirmed by the senate. For all practical purposes Rosenstein is already in charge. Sessions is recused and spending his time chasing pot smokers.

I have no idea why Sessions hasn’t gotten the hint by now and resigned. Either he has no shame or he’s going to force Trump to fire him.
