The national movement to change racially offensive names of buildings, sports teams and landmarks will soon touch a group of schools in southeast Portland. Lynch Meadows, Lynch Wood and Lynch View elementary schools will shed their "Lynch" before the upcoming school year in response to growing concern about the word's racial connotations.
The schools, part of the Centennial School District, were named for the Lynch family, which donated land over a century ago to build the first of the schools. But Centennial Superintendent Paul Coakley says many newer families coming into the district associate the name with America's violent racial history.

These are about the world’s dullest people. I wonder if they have favourite classical composers or painters or period (Early or Mid Renaissance or Neo Classicism, etc) or what foreign countries they’ve visited, etc? Sorry, but I can’t help but wonder about something like that.
Yep, that’s how it goes.
Remember some black comedian, at the White House correspondents dinner, called Obama “my nigger”?? That was ok. No sanctimonious liberal media member or agitator type such as Al Sharpton had anything to say about that.
But on the other hand, Paula Deen said “nigger” under some unknown circumstance, and was driven out of her public life, seeing book deals canceled and a TV show canceled.
I had some friends in my college days whose last name was Lynch. Her name was Gay and his name was Dick.
Lynch pins will have to be removed from all trailer hitches.
