They were talking about this on NPR this morning. Australians were pissed that she continued her vacation and didn't make a statement for five days.

Police Chief was a "three-fer" for Affirmative Action purposes, kind of amazing that the Mayor doesn't appreciate that more (but the appointment was made by Mayor's predecessor).

Mayor Hodges has changed her tune since he was hired, I suspect there was much PC involved in his hiring.

My bet is there was a lot more trouble brewing around this radical lesbian top cop. This was a convenient time to put it all away. The mayor is probably in the middle of a poo storm too. Our county elected a radical lesbian as sheriff a while back, she didn’t make it 2 years before being booted for embezzling $200,000 from the sheriff’s office for vacations and lifestyle related things with her wife.
