She told him it was all in his head. No one was out to get him. No one was at the door. Those lights were from passing cars not coded language that he said he alone could understand. She tried to steer him to hospitals, into ambulances and toward help.
On the Fourth of July night when it all ended, concern had turned to desperation. She called 911, tried to flag down police cars and ambulances, seeking intervention when reason failed. Finally, overwhelmed, she left Alexander Bonds, her boyfriend of six months, on a street corner in the Bronx.
Perhaps less than an hour later, Mr. Bonds walked up to a mobile police command center stationed on East 183rd Street and fired a single shot through the passenger-side window, killing Officer Miosotis Familia as she sat inside.

Alexander Bonds's madness moved along the currents of hatred and suspicion prevalent in his community, but paranoia can seize upon anything - demons, the Mafia, the government, aliens, one's own family or neighbors. Without BLM and the war on police, he might not have shot Misotis Familia, but he could well have killed a different victim.
Rest in peace, Officer Familia.
This sounds like a great story cooked up by his lawyer.
...but he was just fine the week before. Sure.
He’s dead, Jim.
No lawyer or story needed.
Why do we always get these sob stories about the killer, but nothing about the good, useful, productive life of the victim, their family, their hopes, dreams, concerns? It’s as if the victim doesn’t exist, and it’s all about the killer. Same when the msm runs stories on some “dreamer” who tortures/murders a citizen, even when that citizen was just a kid. How about some stories about the victim and their life, now taken from them, and taken from their loved ones?
The NYT did run stories about Misotis Familia, her accomplishments, and the loss felt by those who loved her. You can search, NYT and her name, and find them.
Exploring why she died - what the man who killed her was thinking - why he was not hosptalized - is valid reporting.
The mental health system in this country has been gutted. Officer Familia is a victim of a system that failed to take a dangerously paranoid man off the streets. One injection does not fix madness.
Sounds like a deleted scene from Mel Gibson’s film Conspiracy Theory (too hackneyed for anyone to believe)
The defense lawyer thanks you for that article. It will be very useful in the trial.
So many years now since that judge ruled society can’t put mentally ill people out of harms way when theres nobody to care for them. Whether a danger to themselves or others. Right here in NYC that ruling happened otherwise this guy may have been in a secure institution.
Yeah. Gutted by equality preaching, feel good, mainstreaming loons and the american disability act.
No trial. Dude’s dead.
Now they put them in our prisons.....well over 65% of prisoners have serious mental health issues....and most come from their upbringing....if they even have one.
The left was hellbent on closing Mental Institutions (Insane Asylums). They want to pollute society and this does a great job of it. The left hates the police. The more crazies, drugs and guns on the street, the better. They are hypocrites. It has fallen on the police to clean up the mess because the mentally ill are now all on the street. This freak should have gotten the help he needed and contained from society. King Fascist William Wilhelm is transforming NYC into the utopian sh*thole only a true Socialist could dream of. He makes worthless Dinkins moderate.
That judge is rotting in hell where he belongs.
Do you practice making excuses for those without excuse?
Again, the killer is dead. Shot by police soon after he murdered Ofc. Familia.
“Yeah. Gutted by equality preaching, feel good, mainstreaming loons and the american disability act.”
_____________
And by budget cutters.
Left and right shook hands on this one.
“Do you practice making excuses for those without excuse?”
_______________
Did I?
I am not of the “To understand all is to forgive all” school. I do believe that to understand more is to be able to act more wisely, whether in personal or professional life.
I would hope that policy makers are men and women of understanding. that they would evaluate the results of past policies, and make judicious changes.
Well, I would hope that, if I were an optimist.
