When Maria got an eviction notice telling her she had to be out of her Redwood City apartment by late February, she thought something seemed fishy.
She contacted housing attorneys, who confirmed to her landlord that the notice was not served legally and she didn’t have to move out right away.
Her landlord responded with a text message threatening to call immigration authorities on Maria if she didn’t comply, saying it was a “duty” to report anyone who is undocumented.

This is crazy. Illegal aliens are not supposed to be living here, period. They CERTAINLY should not be living in government subsidized housing meant for U.S. citizens. Evict them and deport them.

In areas I drive through at times they are building 4-5story apt complexes all over claiming its for thousands 18-early 20’s moving out of parents and college, when in reality I see more and more people in unusual dress and language for this area on the streets, all the while the known illegal alien areas are untouched as far as getting them evicted and deported.

I lived in the Sacramento area briefly while stationed at Travis AFB. Public schools weren’t even an option to us, after hearing about the crowded classes that move at the slowest illegal’s pace.
And that was 15 years ago. I’m surprised the legal residents aren’t incensed by now.
yes rents increased over last 8 years but in some areas they jump not the usual % but hundreds more per month.

These landlords see an opportunity to kick out the illegals to open up space for young professionals looking for cheap housing most likely.
It's good for landlords because it improves the stability of their income, improves the neighorhood business stability and as the area is reclaimed the property values increase....

Here we go again. Whenever there’s a Republican president, people drop dead in the streets, rats gnaw at their dead bodies, rents go up, families are thrown out in the streets, hordes of homeless crowd the sidewalks, 90 year olds are placed in their wheelchairs and pushed off a cliff, aids cases triple, the moon slows in its orbit, and the polar bears freeze to death.
When I buy a multi-family rental building the price is based on the rents that building produces. It is an investment.
When a city or a state controls rent they are taking part of the future appreciation of my investment from me for the public purpose of lowering housing prices. No it is not a total taking, but they are stealing my future income and appreciation from me.
