Ivanka Trump takes her father’s seat at world leaders’ table during a G-20 meeting

HAMBURG — President Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump has an expansive portfolio in her father's administration. But on Saturday, she literally took his seat at the table at the Group of 20 summit.

The first daughter was spotted slipping into Trump's seat at a working session on “Partnership with Africa, Migration and Health,” putting her shoulder-to-shoulder with British Prime Minister Theresa May. Russian President Vladimir Putin was sitting one seat down.

Trump's presence at the high-level table was somewhat unusual, given that government ministers or senior officials are typically the ones called to stand in for heads of state at such sessions. But she is both the president’s daughter and an unpaid “assistant to the president" who focuses on issues of women's empowerment and workplace development, but maintains broad influence in the administration.

Thank you for the polite disagreement comment. It is refreshing to have different opinions expressed without the character assassinations that often occur.

The only restriction I am aware of are relatives to Cabinet positions, imposed because of the Kennedy brothers.

And actually, as much as I think JFK was a leftist who has been elevated to Divine Status, I think that restriction is wrong. In my opinion the president has the right to appoint anyone to the cabinet he wants, as long as he can get them past the senate.

Were Obama’s appointees good just by virtue of the fact that they weren’t relatives?

The fact is, if you don’t like Trump’s job in office, vote for Lieawatha or whoever in 2020. Until then, let him do his freaking job.

I guess you are being sarcastic. I accept your polite criticism of me.

I am sorry I said “ninny”.

I agree, it is too much. Nobody voted for her.

I seem to remember Huma sitting in the Chair at a G-20 Meeting

Sorry but this is crap, who elected Ivanka? Why do the same people that were outraged by the power given to the unelected shrillary and wookie feel it's OK for the unelected Ivanka to to do the same thing? We elect one person to be the President of the United States, not a person and their family or extended family as co-presidents.

I agree with you on this.
I don’t like nepotism any better then cronyism.

Other then JFK (RFK was Attorney General) I can’t think of any other administration that was as blatant in their use of “family” for administration tasks,

Bushes don’t count each was elected by their own right.

It is bothersome!

Apparently you have forgotten the service Jamie Gorelick did to facilitate 9/11. Bueller? Bueller?-yourself. Ethics advise from her is a joke.

You also seem to have forgotten Trump saying his children would not be in his administration although Donald Jr. a conservative would be far better than a liberal.

21 trillion deficit and Ivanka wants the government to fund parents’ 6 week family leave. Worse idea than the subsidies with that socialist Obamacare. Parents can save vacation time or the funds to take off 6 weeks. Will likely mean no 70 inch TV, but it is not the government responsibility to fund family leave or childcare. That is a personal responsibility.

Wow! I was being quite sincere. Your response to me was very polite. You did not call me a ninny unless I missed it. You said that to another poster

Didn’t like it then either. Two wrongs will never make a right and it doesn’t matter who does it.
