Keane said on "Fox & Friends" he sees the statement from the Kremlin as more "talk" and "bluster" by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"That's rubbish. They're not gonna shoot at U.S. airplanes. They're not gonna take on the United States. They have very limited capability in Syria by comparison to U.S. capability," said Keane, a Fox News military analyst.

That’s a nice pipeline you’ve got there, Vlad. Be a shame if anything happened to it.
Syria hardly seems worth it
it is in my esteemed opinion that anything Russian against the United States Air Force would last about seven minutes.
If that long.
...They have very limited capability in Syria by comparison to U.S. capability...
Ok.
“We’ll never fire first. But if he fires one, I’ll fire one.”
“Fire one!”
There is nothing the democrats and Never Trumpers would like more than to have President Trump become involved in another shooting war to totally distract everyone from implementing his domestic agenda.
(Well - let’s just say it would be their favorite right after impeachment and a real beheading)
I hope Keane doesn’t have to eat those words!
What the hell am I reading here. Are you people actually saying that if our aircraft are attacked while over Syrian territory by the Russians, we should ignore them, take the hit, not fight back, what?
it is in my esteemed opinion that anything Russian against the United States Air Force would last about seven minutes.
If that long.
You don’t have to worry about that. Politically, Putin can’t afford any escalation right now.
So we’ll see the usual barking from Putinist Russia and nothing else. You can expect they’ll threaten nuclear war again soon, kill more Ukrainians, etc. But that’s it.
Poking the bear seems risky. Would we really have an easy time of it against Russia/Iran/NorthKorea/Syria and maybe Turkey ?(Edrogen is not amused about possible US involvement in the coup) How much help would we get from NATO? Europe is burning.
I thought we were only going after ISIS. We should not still be training and arming "friendly rebels" in Syria. One can't help but suspect that some of them are rogues, "friendly rebels" for a paycheck and ISIS sympathizers in their free time.
I'm not liking this, not at all. Too many crazies such as McCain on the loose in DC, controlling the "facts" and setting the agenda.
So if Iran was to hoist a couple of poorly guided NK missiles towards Syria, to “retaliate” against the bombing of their Khomeini shrine ...
what are our wonderful USAF pilots and planes doing bombing Syria?
(and with all respect for the general, I would’nt be making such belligerent statements, and especially not while invading a Russian ally’s country....just saying...the Russians are not cowards...)
Thank you James Macarthur. Pre Dano of course
I do not think that Hornet driver would have gone after that Flanker if the RoE were not already in place. And with Mattis running things I do not believe he would have set the RoE unless he was confident in the ability of the Navy to absolutely control the airspace above Syria. If there was thhe slightest doubt about what the Russians are capable of the pilot would have been refused permission to fire. Mattis knows that decisions and policy are always made based on an adversary’s capabilities, not their intent.
I'm saying that we have no right to have our aircraft attack the aircraft of the government of Syria, without an actual congressional declaration of war against Syria (which has not happened). If we want to attack ISIS camps, in partnership with Syria and Russia, that's fine. ISIS is a common enemy.
Let’s not get into WWIII because some faction in the pentagon or the intelligence services wants to poke the Bear.
I have the feeling that McCain, Hillary, and Co., are pushing for this kind of response.
“We have no right....”
“In accordance with rules of engagement and in collective self-defense of coalition-partnered forces, (the Syrian jet) was immediately shot down by a US F/A-18E Super Hornet,” the coalition statement said.”
Apparently we do.
