Lena Dunham Blasts ‘Legal System’ After Cosby Mistrial
NBC Bay Area ^ | June 17, 2017 | Melkorka Licea

Twitter erupted with an array of disgusted and supportive posts about Bill Cosby‘s mistrial on Saturday after a judge declared a mistrial in the bombshell sexual assault case.

“Try him again. #CosbyTrial. Heart goes out to the women who came forward,” blasted comedian Kristen Schaal, 39, who plays the voice of Louise Belcher in FOX comedy “Bob’s Burgers.” “Without that courage there will be more victims. Serial rapist.”

“Girls” creator Lena Dunham, 31, was quick to express repugnance for the outcome: “Bill Cosby’s trial is about much more than Bill Cosby. When women see justice served, their own fear & trauma are eased.”

“When dreadful people like this are so upset, I almost want to be happy at the verdict.”

I don’t think the government had a compelling case. I remember when “’ludes” were all the rage. A lot of dopers just liked the dull grog effect. We weren’t there to hear the evidence. This is short of a conviction AND short of an acquittal. Might as well enjoy the outrage.

He may be guilty, but the evidence in this case probably lead to the mistrial.

“I liked him 25 years ago too.”

I did until he tipped his seething racial hate card. He is not a good guy. Didn’t lose much. Issac Bashevis Singer on the other hand broke my heart. Still makes me sad.

The statute of limitations for rape should be 5 years. If a charge that can be so contrived and with such fleeting evidence can’t be made and investigated in that period of time, I’m doubtful that an actual rape really happened.

This would not apply to child sexual assault, of course.

Cosby was taken out because he strayed from the liberal plantation. He started questioning why the education system was failing blacks in the inner-cities. Why there were no fathers and why kids were spending $200 on sneakers.

Don't know and don't care if the allegations against him are true or not. This man has been in the business for over 50 years and now just recently these women are crawling out of the woodwork. Why didn't no one said anything then?

That's what I find so very odd about all this. The long knives for Cosby didn't come out until AFTER he began speaking against the leftist culture.

I guess he figured his melanin level would shield him. They got him on his XY chromosome? And as for what he's accused of doing, others in the Hollywood culture were doing the same thing; why aren't they going after them? Because they're staying on the same song sheets? Was the attack on Cosby a shot across the bow to the other males in Hollywood? Y'all had better not cross our cultural mores like HE did!

Says the girl who sexually assaulted her own sister.

Lena Dunham is scum of the earth.

No. Bill Cosby’s trial is about Bill Cosby. The only question is whether Cosby is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of raping those women. If Lena Dunham (self-admitted child molester) and other women want their fear & trauma eased, they should get a dog, or a few cats. Perhaps Lena could get a pet for her little sister.

Note: I have not followed the Cosby charges closely, since it does not affect my life. I don’t have an opinion on his guilt. It’s certainly plausible that he gave those women the pills with their permission and they then saw these accusations as a financial windfall. It is also possible that he drugged them without their knowledge and raped them. It would be hard to prove either beyond a reasonable doubt, but it depends on what evidence the prosecution has. Evaluating the evidence is why we have a jury system instead of letting perverts like this actress decide about someone’s freedom.

I've been torn about this case since its beginning. So many women accusing him of sexual assault or rape suggests that at least one of them is telling the truth. I have a hard time believing that all of these women consented to being drugged.

OTOH, there is not enough evidence for me to conclude that their is proof of his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Additionally, many women did want to have sex with Cosby and many of them did so.

Ultimately, I have no idea of he is guilty. Part of me thinks he is guilty, part of me thinks he is innocent, all of me thinks there will never be sufficient proof of guilty.

I am noticing a trend of really old rich guys getting accused of sexual misconduct before they croak of natural causes.

Yup. The second he left the plantation and started questioning the terrible results of the “Great Society” and “leaders” like Al Sharpton who feast off a victim mentality, the women began appearing out of the woodwork and Bill was finished.

I’m sure that famous lothario Wilt Chamberlain had any number of questionable encounters among his reported thousands, but he didn’t rock the political boat.

The statute of limitations for rape should be 5 years.

Maybe for actually prosecuting the case, but I think you should have to report the rape contemporaneously. None of this "me too, he raped me 3 years ago".

In one of his later novels he went on a hostile tangent about Gentiles. Pretty ugly. My attitude was ‘FU2, buddy’. I’m sure apologists would say it was the attitude of a fictional character, not the author, but it rang too clearly and he was into it too much. I’ve not read anything of his since, though I used to read and reread his short stories.

I’m sorry, did I miss something? Did the admitted child molester, Lena Dunham, observe all of the court proceedings? Was she in the deliberation room with the jurors? Heck, maybe she was there with Cosby and this woman for the alleged assault. She seems to know exactly what happened and what the outcome of the trial should have been, legal requirements be darned.

I have no idea what Cosby may or may not have done, but neither does the admitted child molester, Lena Dunham.

Cosby’s timing was off. It ran right against the Obamunist narrative at the same time. They took him out. That doesn’t mean he’s innocent - I have no idea. But they took him out because he was telling the truth during the Propaganda Chorus.
